...is the absolutely amazing goaltending we've absolutely wasted so far this season. Both Mason and Conklin have save percentage just under .930 and the Blues are nearly last in the Western Conference. With a better offensive performance through the same stretch, we would probably be top 4 in the West.

Truely heartwrenching...

These guys are killing me.

What burns my ass is sitting on a heater that I didn't realize was on.

That and :plusplus: to wasting the goaltending. Mason and Conklin should be very vocal and very pissed off.

Except both Mason and Conklin let in goals that killed the team and produced a lost. Don't get me wrong, I think they have played outstanding, but I didn't see Nabarkov give up a bad goal tonight while being outshot.

Just sayin'....................

We would've found a way to lose anyway. We don't score in close games.

Of course we don't. If we did the game wouldn't be close.

Probably should have just gone with "We don't score in games."

The way I see it is: The Goaltender is an easy person to blame. For example, if the Blues lose 2-1, you could say it was Mason' fault for letting in 2 goals. To me, I would say it's the forwards fault for not scoring more than 2 goals. Shutouts should never be expected. I just take it as a given that 1 or 2 goals, possibly 3 depending if it was a good goal or not, are going to go in our end. It's up to the forwards to score more than the opposing team. It's also up to the defense to limit the amounts of shots on goal. So once again, if we lose 3-1, Tkachuck and Boyes are more to blame for not scoring 2 goals than Mason is for letting the goals in.

Sure, Conklin and Mason may have let some "easy" goals in in the past, but the forwards didn't score on "easy" scoring chances. The goalie is only one person, so he makes an easier target than 12 forwards do. There have been games which Mason played so well he has robbed the other team - like last night vs Phoenix for example - but should we really rely on our goaltender to steal games for us? When's the last time Mason didn't play well and our forwards played so well they stole games for us? That hasn't happened yet this season. Without Mason, we'd be screwed.

Several seasons ago (particularly The late Hull era to the Demitra/Mellanby era)we had inconsistent goaltending but we still not only won games but we were one of the best teams in the league because we had 2 of the best defensemen ever and our FORWARDS stole games for us. Our forwards have not stole a game for us yet this year...MAYBE you can count the Detroit game in Sweden when Conklin let in 3 goals, or as I like to say, Detroit scored 3 goals.
