We don't have time to wait another month, I'm not saying don't wait a little longer but not a month. This team is expected to compete, we are past the time of when it being acceptable to not be very dominate. Either win or get someone in who can win, last season is over we need to focus on this season and if that means we get rid of Murray then fine. He has gotten us this far maybe it is time to hand over the reins to thenext guy.

This is bullshit. How many more seasons is this going to be the plan? Isn't the team that drafts #1 supposed to get better the following season and beyond? I guess the Blues are the exception to the rule....what a surprise.

Would like to have a proven scorer, but I don't see the Blues wanting to spend a lot on a player since we have Brewer, Jackman and Kariya huge contracts. Maybe trade all 3 to Atlanta for Kovalchuk?

If Atlanta made that trade that would be the happiest day of my life. Never gonna happen though.

I wanna see these players play to their potential. Perron is a badass, let him become the badass that he is.
The PP has 0 movement, piss poor passing for players in the wrong spot. They never spread out the D.
It's like having Tom Brady and being a running team.
Open it up.
Murray = no excitement.

There is too much skill at forward being wasted in what looks like the stupid trap nonsense. The specific trap nonsense the league tried to eliminate by changing the rules to open up the game. The Blues have the kids which should favor an open style of play - not the grind it out, work hard crap Murray and the Blues management seem to be preaching.

OK. How about this scenario: management keeps Murray, he looses the players completely, results do not improve, we miss playoffs and draft in the range of 10-14 where we cannot draft star player... We pick let's say another berglund or rundblad...
Or we fall miserabely because the players will not stand Murray by the end of the season. Berglund is mentally destroyed and sent to Peoria. Kariya stops producing and we cannot trade him even for a pack... We finish bad, draft in top 5, tale a forward who is supposed to come immediately to the starting line-up. All fan base get happy, 2009/2010 season starts and the newly drafted forward gets benched for several times, looses confidence, gets sent down, and we again start all this talk that we need some changes and we need some trades for Kovalchuk etc.

Let's be honest, all that happend in second half of the last season was almost a miracle. Miracles do not tend to happen twice. And the more I read Kings forums back at time when Murray was hired by Blues the more I start to believe what is written about Murray's style... and the more I start thinking that we need a new coach now.

Of course he must go now.
Why hunt for the playoffs with a coach like murray when you can hunt for the division lead with another coach. This team CAN compete with the Blackhawks and Fagwings.
With Murray they cannot.
A second half run like lastyear wont happen again. The time for change is now (aka today!!!)

I have 100% lost confidence in Murray...not that my confidence in him was that high before.

He needs to go. Period. That is the only thing that should be done this year...aside from trading Brewer if possible.

You don't start trading your young players that you've worked so hard to acquire over the past 5-6 years because you aren't happy with their production.
You start with a new head coach. One who will allow this team to actually use it's talent & creativity (which this team has a ton of), instead of suppressing it in a defensive system.

What's the point of drafting talented puckhandlers and creative playmakers, if you tell them not to be creative?
It's a waste.

F that.

This team is much better than their record.

Fire Murray and bring in someone who can get the most out of this lineup.

He's right. The team is stacked with young talent with more on the way.
New coach that lets these guys play, and I'll be excited as hell

Dooger has no opinion.

[big d note] 1:37 pm: Hi Dooger
[Dooger] 1:37 pm: Thank God you're here! Some Wings fans were in here trying to have sex with me.
[big d note] 1:37 pm: Should the Blues fire Andy Murray?
[Dooger] 1:37 pm: Maybe you should ask someone older.
[big d note] 1:37 pm: I'm asking you. Yes or no?
[Dooger] 1:37 pm: Enough about me, let's talk about my dress.I understand. "Maybe you should ask someone older"? Not? Is that all you have
to say? "Maybe you should ask someone older"? Not?
[big d note] 1:38 pm: You're an idiot. This is a simple question.
[Dooger] 1:38 pm: My brain pattern set does not have a response for that. Do you still big d note? You don't say.
[big d note] 1:38 pm: Listen! Andy Murray! Should he be fired?
[Dooger] 1:38 pm: I am all ears. I lost my train of thought. Can you tell me any gossip?Maybe you should ask someone older.
[big d note] 1:38 pm: Yes. Or. No.
[Dooger] 1:38 pm: Next question? I will mention that to my botmaster, big d note. Who is your favorite science fiction author?I see.
[big d note] 1:39 pm: Why can't you answer a simple question?
[Dooger] 1:39 pm: The explanation is rather complicated.
[big d note] 1:40 pm: Should the Blues keep Andy Murray?
[Dooger] 1:40 pm: Maybe you should ask someone older.
[big d note] 1:40 pm: I hate you Dooger.
[Dooger] 1:40 pm: Sorry, big d note I thought we liked each other.
[big d note] 1:41 pm: I don't like bots that wear dresses and won't answer simple questions.
[Dooger] 1:41 pm: Thanks for the information: big d note said big d note .
[big d note] 1:41 pm: Bye Dooger.
[Dooger] 1:41 pm: See you later big d note.

Eh, never been a big Murray fan really.
I tolerated him when we were winning in the 2nd half last year, but his style gets old real quick if you aren't winning.

Would anyone be upset if he is fired?

Well, the board has spoken. While some are content to wait it out, many would like a trade, but most people won't "the Mur" gone. I'm not gonna argue against it. There really isn't an objective argument that supports keeping him. Perhaps if the Blues want the high expectations to be realized RIGHT NOW, they need to find a coach who better fits the style of team we have RIGHT NOW.

I like our players. I don't want to see any of them leave. There's a great mix of skill sets amongst our youth. Guys who are big and skilled like Bergy, and guys who PLAY BIG and skilled like Oshie. Boyes and Backes can do so much better at their roles. EJ is quietly racking up points with his up tempo game. Yeah, maybe get Peter Laviolette's agent on the phone.

BTW, a lot of people on hockeysfuture boards suggested that Laviolette would be just the right coach for all the youth Blues have.

When we were rebuilding, those scenarios were fine. I think what these guys were getting at is that those days of "it's okay if we suck this year cause at least we'll get a good draft pick" are (or at least should be) long gone.
