I don't know about you, but I hate the ADMITTED fact that the Blues stress a system that minimizes the players individual attributes in exchange for a pack mentality...especially when its stifels chemistry, creativity, and produces boring hockey...and low moral.

I actually just got done reading that and I agree. I understand what Murray is saying and his explanation of why he treats the kids the way he does, but I have to question whether it is necessarily the right way to do things.

After reading that article, why should the kids bother. If the kids make any kind of mistake, they sit for a shift or two, while vets which make the same mistakes repeatedly are given passes. Yes, I'm looking at you, Eric Brewer. With the amount of youth on the Blues, it's no friggin' wonder there isn't consistent effort night to night with that kind of inequality passed down from the head coach.

It's funny because Al was just on Bernie's show last week discussing how Andy has the kids playing scared and how he needs to use positive reinforcement.
Funny thing is (while I love him) Oshie seems to be the exception because the more and more he sucks the more and more they are playing him. WTF is he doing on the point on the PP? I don’t even think he can shot a slap shot hard enough to get it on net from the point.
Love the kid, but….come on!
Of course, that said, he may be the only ‘defenseman’ we have that can seem to handle the puck and hold the zone.

It is an interesting article.
Not defending Murray, but just for some perspective, the coaching staff has recently talked to the players about overusing fancy moves like toe drags and the like, which they believed resulted in turnovers or a failure to get the puck to the net.
