It sucks to more or less lose the game on that flukey goal by Zetterberg. Should have been 2 pts.

I hate it when well played games are screwed up by a fluke goal.

We've taken 5 of a possible 6 pts. against Detroit this year. I'll take it I guess...but this OTL sucks.

Congrats, Andy. You just gave a three-point swing and new life in the division to your hated rivals with ANOTHER home loss because you bunkered like crazy for the last twenty minute of competitive play. If you're not going to play to win against the Flying Tires at home, why bother to win road games?

I'm so sick of Andy Freaking Murray and his crap style of hockey.

I was in attendance tonight, and I don't know where the team that played the first 20 minutes went to for the remaining 45 minutes and the skills competition. The effor was there, but all the sudden they couldn't clear the zone or connect on a pass to save their lives.

And this goes without saying, but as someone who usually gives Jackman the benefit of the doubt, I just can't do it tonight. He was absolutely the worst player on the ice tonight. He was not playing physical, clearing the crease, and on more than one occasion, when he had the chance to clear the puck, he either just literally stared at the puck and didn't even take a whack at it, or he kicked it out as a gift to the Red Wings point men.

I thought there was a lot of good tonight from some players, but I just really don't know why after all the momentum the Blues had for 20 minutes, they came out and just laid down for the rest of the game.

If Cam isn't going to fight, why the (Frank) play him. Seriously, we know the wingers don't fight, so why bother play him for 5 minutes. And if any of the wingers actually do want to fight...well then it's about time the guys who have their balls stuffed in crotch get tough. Yes, you Backes, Jackman, Crombeen, etc...grow a pair.

To disagree, one doesn't have to be disagreeable.

I will say this, right now the Blues are starting to play 40 minutes a game...but not a full 60 to win it in regulation.

This is ridiculous. Every time the opposing team pulls their goalie in a one goal game, we end up letting in a goal. EVERY (Franking) TIME.

Pathetic.

I would like to see more separation of man from puck rather than chasing to separate puck from man. Blow. Guys. Up. Especially ice dancing nancies like the deadthings.

You got a lead by pressuring on the forecheck and controlling play on the cycle in the offensive zone - maybe you should stick with that if you want to win? I am so tired of them trying to play pre-lockout hockey when a one goal lead was almost insurmountable. That's just not how the current league works - you have to play the whole game to win these days folks; pour on the goals.

It's too bad Oshie never got off a shot because he had the goalie beaten.

Disappointing to let two points slip away, but still got something.

Meh, time to start a new winning streak I guess.

I have to admit that I've grown tired of seeing us change players in the middle of a good attack zone shift... did it again in OT last night............... WTF?!?!?!

What game did you watch? The St. Louis Blues sure didn't play anywehre near 40 minutes last night.

That was the funny part in talking to so many people. I've heard a lot who watched the game on TV talk about good to OK play. Everyone that attended the game will tell you the was easily one of our 5 worst efforts on the season. I know you miss a lot on TV and radio, but that much? If so, I'll never miss another home game again.

Really? You're calling that one of our 5 worst losses? No way, I was at the game and definetly don't think you can call that one of our five worst games. Not our best, but not our worst, we have played some very bad games this year, some that have reminded me of how we played under kitchen and that pretty horrible.

??
No way was that one of the worst performances of the season. No way.

The Blues played a pretty good game vs. the Wings...not stellar, but pretty good. The only thing I can really complain about is coming up empty on the PP yet again. Detroit is a good team and they are going to get their chances. If not for a fluke goal at the end of regulation, we win that game and everyone is happy.

That's where everything is wrong. We stood around way too much. D-man were out of position constantly. We couldn't complete a pass. And we struggled greatly at sustaining pressure.

We play that exact game five more times and we’ll lose four of them in regulation.

Everyone one in attendance stated over and over in between each period how lucky we were to even be in this game let alone winning.

I know how hard it is to see blown assignments, standing around, and confused defensemen on TV, but what surprises me is how no one noticed the choppy play, poor passing, and lack of pressure.

As for our 5 worst games, I stated one of our ‘5 worst efforts’ and I truly believe that. There was as much standing around and floating as I’ve seen out of this team in weeks. I can’t say it was one of our worst ‘games’ because we converted on some chances, but the effort was not up to par at all.

It’s funny because this team struggled scoring last year two, so that should be no surprise. The lack of effort is quite concerning and IMO the difference between the second half run last year and our current circumstances.
