JR: Jonas Junland Recalled

The Blues have called up Jonas Junland. He could play tonight for Carlo Colaiacovo (lower-body).
Eric Brewer (lower body) has gone on IR, but he's considered day to day.
By calling up Junland, Blues are going out of their way not to play Alex Pietrangelo in his 10th game.

Have fun with this one Blues Fans. I went to the Rivs game Friday evening then took in the Blues game Saturday night...Junland had better park it on the blueline and hold on for dear life. He has loads of offensive upside but is extremely slow to recover. This has to be a move to inflate his ego so he stays with the farm team another year or use him as trade bait.
Not calling up Strachen or playing Petro makes no sense IMO.

My guess is they are sending to the Canadian junior team or whatever. It is a higher level program than his junior team and still doesn't count as time towards his ufa. Think that starts around 12-5. Not positive about all these facts, but I think they are correct. Heard Kerbs or someone talking about it last week.

Statistically, it looked like Junland was epic suck. Just Mur trying to justify not keeping him up at the NHL level for more than 1 game a season, or shopping him to Columbus in a package for Rick Nash?
Probably the former.
