YOUR Top 5 moments in Blues History?

What is YOUR top 5 personal favorite Blues hockey moments? Notice the emphasis on YOUR....things that you personally remember seeing or being excited about. For example, yes the Blues making it to the Stanley Cup finals in the late 1960s was a great thing, but if you were born in 1985, then it you really didn't experience that as a fan.

5. Looking forward to Twist/Probert fights. (Blues win more today when they FIGHT!)
4. The monster comeback (GAME) against the Kings in the playoffs (1998 I believe)
3. Brett Hull scoring 86 goals in a season (also chasing 50 goals in 50 games)
2. Sweeping the Hawks in the 1993 playoffs (Only God has more saves than Joseph)
1. Brendan Shanahan getting high sticked by Keith Tkachuk of the then Winnipeg Jets. Shanahn went into the locker room, got about 500 stiches over his upper lip. He came back to the game....scored the game tying goal.....then the go ahead goal....then proceed to kick the %$#! out of Tkachuk. And we let him go why?

Honorable mentions...
-Making the playoffs last year (What a run)
-Grant Fuhr promising victory in game 7 against Phoenix ('99 playoffs)

Chase probably fought Probert more than Twist

???? Did I miss something here? We swept the fukkin series.

What? Quote? Link?

Oh, and I almost forgot! Good thing you're not a professional historian because I'm pretty sure you omitted a few notables from your list. What were they again? Oh, that's right....

MONDAY NIGHT MIRACLE???
Tuesday in Toronto???

Just Sayin'...

Maybe...but the Twist/Probert fights and the buildup to them, were epic...even though there weren't many of them.

I believe he's talking about the monster comeback in game 4 when we scored three goals on a 5 minute power play in the 3rd period to either tie the game or go ahead.

I remember this. Some players after game 7 said that Fuhr told them if they won game 6, he guaranteed a game 7 victory. I don't think Fuhr announced this. It was a locker room thing that came out after the fact.

Those are memorable moments...but maybe not to him...maybe he doesn't remember them. Why you gotta go hatin' on his personal list?
Douche.

He's just got me all fired up after that comment in his Brewer/Jersey thread. Plus, slow day at work and I'm suddenly incredibly short with anything thrown my way.

Keith- it's nothing personal its just that the topics you decided to discuss have been beatin to hell in this place. So, again nothing personal, you're just not saying anything with this post. Or nothing that anyone feels like talking about anyway.

Blues trade Pronger for Brewer, Woywitka, Lynch.

Definitely the highlight of all of our Blues fanship.

.... Just saying.

sorry, maybe i should just post messages like "just sayin" and leave it at that....

just sayin'

Monday nigh miracle? it would have been a better moment in my memory had they gone on to win the series. i think the fact that they blew it in game 7 pretty much ruins it. if team USA had lost the gold medal game after defeating the soviets in 1980, would there have been the hype behind the "miracle on ice?" i guess since the blues have never won a Stanley cup, we cling to those types of moments.

and what about someone not liking the 3rd jersey would get you all fired up? i recall other 3rd jerseys in blues history that completely sucked. aka the huge trumpets on the front....even keenan knew not to go with that one.

and i don't recall chase ever being able to go toe to toe with probert, twist on the other hand.....

....and if you were a bigger fan then you would remember grant fuhr's statement that came out.....

just sayn,

ZING!

Or the fact some of us were like 12 at the time... whichev.

See I'm only good for recent history because although I've been a hockey fan forever, I wasn't really a diehard Blues fan until Tkachuk got dealt, that was when I honestly started to follow the team. My personal favorite memories:

5) Salvador for Janssen

4) Sillinger for Shishkanov

3) Watching Doug Weight win the cup. And I consider that a Blues memory cause he'll always be a Blue. TEH DUG WAITZ!!!

2)The day we signed Paul Kariya. Despite the utter and complete FAIL! of that signing, that night was exuberance.

2) Sweeping the Stars to advance to the Western Conference Finals.

1) The day we clinched the playoff berth last season

I was at the Monday Night Miracle you asshat. I got EJECTED FROM THE PREMISES at the Monday Miracle and got let back in by a sympathetic security guy. I was FUKKING LOADED ON BOOZE AND IT WAS THE GREATEST FRANKING SPORTING EVENT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO IN MY LIFE AND THAT INCLUDES THAT DOUCHEBAG OZZIE SMITH'S GAME 5 HOME RUN IN THE 1985 PLAYOFFS.

DON'T YOU EVER, I MEAN EVER TALK SH1T ABOUT THE MONDAY NIGHT MIRACLE AGAIN!

:moran: :moran: :moran: :moran: :moran:

AND oh yeah... probie and twist.... what in the FUKK are you talking about? :x

here's my list. learn something:

5. penalty marred game against detroit in the 91 playoffs
4. brawl against calgary in 91 when theo fleury scored a shorthanded hattrick against us. gino beat ronnie stern about the head with his helmet
3. geoff courtnall running the LA goalie
2. Durbano/Fotiu at MSG
1. THE MONDAY NIGHT FRANKING MIRACLE/ ST. PATTY'S DAY MASSACRE (tie)

I'm still waiting for the Blues to bring Stanley home so I can remove the cellophane from my Note by Note.

hey... whateveh... I guess it wasn't that cool anyway.

Honestly, tho... considering all the heartache this organIzation has caused all of us, that night was like winning the Cup. It was pandemonium!

:letsgoblues:

Now let's hurry up and flameout again this year and regroup for another failure in 2010-11.
