not all but if the players are getting bigger, doesn't it make sense to make the dimensions of the goal bigger?

Why is that a problem? It would take all of a few months for goalies to adjust.

I find that to be the easiest, most instantaneous/effective way to increase scoring.

But I can see it now... in 3010, the average goalie is 7'2" and Curtis Price V is saying "enlarge the goal?? that's ridiculous! That 5 square inches is plenty to shoot at!"
A goalie's leg pads, chest protector and mask are all meant to protect the goalie, not stop the puck.

And how tall a goalie is, is irrelevant when it comes to regulating the width of goalie pads.

Here's what needs to be done...
- Leg pads can only be so wide and can only extend a certain length above the knee, period. These pads that take away all of the five hole, along with the entire goal mouth along the ice (I'm looking at you Niemi) are out of control. If a goalie does a butterfly with those pads, it's really hard to score along the ice.
- Only approved chest protectors with a certain thickness will be allowed.
- Goalies will be measured by a league official to size their goalie pants and jersey and they must wear that specific size.

I know they sized down equipment a bit a while back, but it wasn't enough. Looking at goalies from the 70's and 80's compared to the goalies of today, their equipment was so much smaller. It needs to go back to that.
