You're crazy if you think Crosby is overrated.

Anyone whom the NHL puts into a commercial is overrated.

I'd vote for Marian Hossa...some of the 'Hawks fans might disagree...either now or in about 11 years.

Crosby the hockey player is not overrated. Crosby the "man" is. What a little bitch.

all time? Chelios, easily.

Plus I heard he had a really large rod. Boy was I disappointed. Guppy's is much bigger. He hardly measured up to MEG, which is pathetic.

On this team... I'd say Berglund.

Everyone has been so high on him. "He's going to be great...he's going to tear it up one day."
I've been quite disappointed with his performance this year. He was labeled as a difference maker and he is showing absolutely no signs of being one.
I know he's young and he still has a couple years to develop into an impact player or at least show signs that he can be one, but I'm not seeing it yet...not even close really.

It's frustrating when Oshie is showing it...Perron is showing it...Johnson is showing it...but Berglund is not, and he was supposed to be the best of the bunch.

If Berglund would quit being a pansy and play balls to the wall physical, he'd be a force.

Backes and Berglund both need to look in the mirror daily and ask themselves: "Do I want to be remembered as a bad ass/crowd favorite type or what I am now, which is just a bunch of potential and perhaps a disappointment?"

Backes is obviously much closer to the ideal, but no harm in him reminding himself of this as well.

You're right, he's definitely not showing it, but still- Berglund's prodcution (8G, 8A) for 850K, or Kariya's production (10G 16A) for 6 million. Overrated? I vote Kariya.

Of course, this leads us into the discussion of the difference between "overrated" and "overpaid." Then again, can't a salary be considered a monetary "rating" of a player?

I would say Bergie has been one of the most disappointing, but overrated?

How could anyone have had him rated that high to begin with?

Did you not watch the second half of the season last year?

You could have had high hopes (as I did) but not dead on expectations that equate to a rating.

On this team…most overrated….Jackman.

Sure there are tons of candidates, but the front office and the media praise him more than any of the other candidates (Boyes, Kariya, Brewer,)

Another candidate may be Oshie. I think he’s played hard, but the local (fans/media) would have you believe he’s a superstar. I guess it depends on how you define ‘over-rated)

Along with Johnson, Berglund was touted as being a can't miss. He was supposed to be better than Oshie & Perron...but he's been the worst of all of them...and it's not even close. The hype behind Berglund was way more than it should have been. Hence the reason he was overrated.

You think Oshie is overrated? The kid is a beast on the ice. The fans love him and like to watch him play... and they are vocal about it...I think you have that confused with them thinking he is a superstar. He's just a huge fan favorite, and rightfully so. It seems like he's all over the ice every shift of every game. He throws his body around, skates his ass off and creates a ton of buzz on the ice. What's not to like? He gets the fans excited. It would be nice if he could finish a little more, but that may come with more experience. We'll see.

As far as Berglund goes, sometimes I get done watching a game and I'm like..."Did Berglund even play?" Most of the time Berglund is invisible out there and does absolutely nothing. Have you ever said that about Oshie? I just don't get what people see in him right now. Sure, he'll have a decent shift once in a while, but those are few and far between for anyone to get excited about.

Right now, I am 100 times more excited about the future of Oshie and Perron than I am about Berglund. I hope he comes around, but I just don't see it happening any time soon.

Crosby (along with a few others today) are better than Gretzky ever was.
The difference is Gretzky was ahead of his time and it took a while for the rest of the league to catch up...and the points came by the truckload for Gretzky. Crosby plays in a much, much tougher defensive league than Gretzky ever did.

Imagine if Crosby or Ovechkin played in the Gretzky era on a team loaded with talent like Gretzky did. Gretzky would have had a lot fewer seasons where he led the league in points and he probably wouldn't own half of the records that he does.

I respect/admire what players did 20-30-40-50 years ago, but the best players today are bigger, faster and all around better hockey players than the best guys from 20 years ago.

You can't compare guys in different eras based on just stats.

Well we will never know how Gretzky would have done nowadays, "I" think he would be better than Crosby...but what I was trying to go with that post was he is not the best player in the league...ESPN says its Crosby Vs. Ovechkin whenever those two teams play each other when "I" think Malkin is the reason Crosby gets 100 points each season...Not saying Crosby is bad but is overrated.

on the blues? i would say davis payne's haircut......SHAVE IT OFF!

has anyone mentioned brewer yet? i mean the guy has the "C" on his chest, i have some pretty high expectations for him and he just doesn't have what it takes. we traded him for pronger, are you !@#$ kidding me? i would rather have pronger on the DL for the season than a healthy brewer playing his best hockey.

....but seriously, SHAVE IT OFF.
