Brad Boyes = top 5 -best shootout guy in the league?

He is an absolute master in the shootout. The guy has wicked moves. I think he has some value in that alone. Even if he doesn't score in regulation, we could use him specifically as our 'shootout' guy and lower his salary some. You can't score 40+ goals two seasons ago by luck, either. Obviously with his ability to score 40 goals and his shootout accuracy, he IS a goal scorer, and I think it's a matter of time before he becomes a legit 30+ goal scorer again. I think if we trade him, it's a huge mistake, because we got him in a really good deal without having to give up anything of value. He's a steal. Boyes is awesome....just WAIT>>>>

There's only one response to this:

Brad, is that you?

Oh Boyes will maybe regain form one day...on an other team. I can't even believe we are having this disscussion. He is not moving his feet at all. He has given up pursuit at least twice on guys that had breakaways (one of them an overtime game winner). The Boyes that we have playing this year is not the same 22 we had last year. If you actually look at the numbers this season falls on his shoulders. We have given up fewer goals this year than last. If he was on pace to post about 90% of what he did last year we would be sitting in like 5th 6th place right now.

I feel Boyes lackluster neutral and defensive zone play could be covered up by 35-40 goals a game but it's definitely a glaring issue now. If Backes or Oshie isn't scoring consistently they'll at least back check and finish checks. He seems like he's floating around quite a bit and its disturbingly consistent each night. I know he's been snake-bitten recently but you can always help out in other ways.

Who gives a crap what he does in the shootout? He's supposed to score over the course of a normal 60 minute game and he's not getting it done with any consistency. It's time for him to either sack up and start playing or take a hike.

Boyes needs a change of scenery where he can play with linemates who will cover for his accuracy ineptitude. I propose he's traded to the Caps so he can play on a line with Brooks Laich and Alex Semin, ergo making the Boyes Laich Semin line.

Let the announcers have fun with that one.

i dont know what the problem is with this chump.
It's not acceptable. He is the only guy on this team who SHOULD have 30'ish goals right now. Pathetic.

Dennis Wideman had no value? Yeah, I think we came out ahead in the trade, but Wideman is/was NOT Christian Backman.

Wideman had 50pts and was +32 for Boston last year... looks like some value to me. He's having an off year this year - just like Boyes.

And when they are both having off years, I prefer Boyes' to Wideman's. Wideman's production has been horrendous.

Let's quit beating around the bush here:

BOYES IS A LOAFING PANSY AND DOES NOT BELONG ON THIS TEAM.

Some of you say this now, but when Boyes is gone and we start losing in shootouts we will all hear "We needs a good one-on-one player like Boyes."

Boyes will get back to scoring 40 goals. Hell, he at least stays healthy. Doesn't he lead the Blues roster in most consecutive games played next to McClement?

Sure... I could play 82+ consecutive games in a row if I were a floating cherry picker too.
