The Biggest GDT of All: USA vs. Canada for Gold, 2 PM, NBC

Post by dmiles2186 »

Yep, we're posting this thing just after midnight late Saturday/early Sunday. It's legit. It's the rematch, USA vs. Canada part deux. USA with the big upset last week, will be even bigger if they pull it off twice. USA going for their first Gold since 1980. Canada is trying to win their second Gold in the last 8 years on their home ice. You knew that already. Here's some videos to get you pumped up, as if you need that.

If this is overboard, I don't care. Gold medal games don't come along that often. Let's go red, white and blue!

It should be a close, hard fought game. -A classic. I think Canada will come out smoking, and win by just one goal. I think 4-3 is most likely. I don't think these teams' defences can hold it down to a low-scoring game. Should be a great one to watch.

Go Team Canada!!!

Team USA is going to have to work their asses off to win this game.
But I don't think work ethic will be an issue at all.

It's going to come down to goaltending...and let's just say that I'm glad we have Miller in net.

Keep up the good work dmiles. As goon would say "Lets show these pansy's how hockey is played states side". I say USA 3, nucks 2. Lets them see just how much better our beer is here when we drink it on THEIR ice.

It is CRUCIAL that the US scores the first goal. With the crowd and the pressure of the game, the Canadians may run away with it if they don't.

I hope I'm wrong, but I think it gets ugly.

Canada 4, USA 1

I can't stop with the videos!

Let's hope the USA gets after Luongo so much that the crowd is saying "BOOOOOOOOOOOO" instead of "LOUUUUUUUUUUUUUU."

The country which scores more goals will probably win.

To compare this matchup to the 1980 Miracle is ludicrous. I'm sorry, but there was no goddam way USA was beating the Soviets, and then they went ahead and beat them anyway. That was kids against Goliaths who trained professionally for the Soviet empire. This is American pros against Canadian pros. There's no comparison between the two games.

My sponsorship of Kane is for comedy's sake, but if not for his backchecking on Crosby, the game could be already over.

Good job, Kane. :hawkssuck:

One more. Please. Please? For the good guys?

If we win this in OT, you'll be able to hear Canada implode from here.

How in the F does a ref get in the way in 4-on-4 hockey in OT???? Puck doesn't hit the ref along the boards and that particular OT goal doesn't happen.

Great game, but this is America. Silver medals are nice, but I'm not doing backflips over it.
