Bergevin.

There was MUCH more on the line for that game...

I could not believe it when that happened...

I would say that this needs to be a poll but it's not even close; Bergevin.

7th game of the playoffs between the Flames/Oilers and Smith scores an own goal in the third period. The score became 3-2, and was the game winner.

Bergevin v. Ballard is Bergevin, hands down.

Steve Smith's is even worse than that, though. That was awful.

It could always be worse, I could be a Cubs fan. (But please, if you could spare me the parallels between the respective organizations, I'd really appreciate it).

Bergevin is just unreal. From the moment you start to play hockey, you're always taught to catch the puck and put it straight down in front of you.

That was so pathetic. Seriously. The Sharks are just a joke of a playoff team.

That reminds me. Some people on this board keep talking about getting Nabokov to replace Mason. PASS. Seriously, Nabby has not been that sharp for probably the past 3 seasons. He is one of the best teams in the West (during the regular season anyway) so they make him look good, but he is not at all what people seem to think he is.

Really? Over the past 4 playoffs, including this one, his save percentage is at .900. What about the disappearance of guys like Marleau, Thornton, etc during the playoffs? How many times has Nabokov taken the Sharks into overtime and lost? He was put through the ringer after the Dallas series a couple years ago...a series where 4 games went into OT, the final game went to 4OT. Flash forward to the Colorado game the other night where he held Colorado scoreless for 59 minutes and LOST.

I really don't see how much, if any, of the Sharks playoff ineptitude can be put on Nabokov's shoulders.

A playoff save % of .900 isn't good enough. That's only one thousandths of a point from being under .900. You need to be in the .920 range at least.

I understand that, but there are also other things that need to be taken into account. The Sharks offense disappears every year in the playoffs, which adds added pressure on the goalie. Also, the Sharks management has ridden Nabokov into the ground during the regular season every year.
