The word on Salo was not good after the game.
He was wheeled out of the arena on a stretcher and taken by ambulance to a Chicago area hospital for further evaluation. TSN was reporting that he suffered a ruptured testicle when Duncan Keith's point shot struck him with mere seconds left in the first period.
That is all...

Sami Salo may have dodged a bullet.
He was believed to have a testicle injury after he was hit with a Duncan Keith slap shot near the end of the first. Salo was taken to hospital and a TSN report said it was a precaution for a possible ruptured testicle.
But The Province learned late Sunday Salo does not have a ruptured testicle.
There is no indication of what his injury is or if he will be able to play Tuesday.
I'm reminded of that catcher for Arizona, I think it was, who got his testicle fractured when he was slid into at home plate. I think it may actually have been Chris Snyder, but I'm not certain.
When I was playing undergrad something like this happened, guy on our team was crossing over in the neutral zone and a guy hit him, it was a totally legal check and he dropped like someone shot him. We all just looked at each other completely stunned cause it wasn't that hard of a hit and yea- his ball had got between the edge of his cup and the leg all his weight was on so it was a solid surface and the hit went straight there- severely bruised his ball but luckily didn't rupture it.
He made a point of showing it off like he was proud of it and it was the grossest thing I've ever seen. He didn't walk straight for about a month. I can't even imagine...
