Did they confirm Perron? Makes sense. I wonder what pick.

I like the move. Hopefully Halak will sign.

Would have rather seen Perron and a pick go the other way. Now this just adds to the RFAs we need to sign. Hopefully they work something out rather quick.

Hate to see Eller go but you've got to give to get. I like the move. We need a bona-fide #1 and we may have just got one.

I think it is within your rights to have dibs on Halak now. If not, you can talk to me about Brewer.

Not sure what to think about this, but you're betting an awful lot of what you've been selling the Blues fanbase on (the scoring youth movement) for a goalie who was not so well-liked until one playoff run with a middling team. I'm going to let this sit for a bit, but this smacks of desperation.

If Halak was 35 instead of 25 I would agree with you. But he's at the age where good goalies start to put it together.

I really like Eller and was excited to see him play next season, but he's still just a prospect - an undersized one at that. Based on performance Halak has more proven performance. If Eller turns into a PPG player this trade might end up sucknig, but for a goalie with that kind of potential on a team like this....you just have to pull the trigger.

:plusplus:

this is their "oh shit, we didn't make the playoffs and people aren't willing to wait for these kids to mature" trade.

Also agreed on his unproven record. Kid's got a bright future for sure. But the contract he wants will be huge. I guess they're using their "Kariya money" on Halak?

Halak was born a year and a day after the Monday Night Miracle.

Also, goodbye Jarmo....hello Jaro!

I can't believe people aren't jacked up about this trade.

I'm hoping they use their "Mason money" in signing him.

Every trade has two sides. I'm not saying one group is wrong, but we could trade Eller for Ovechkin... someone will disagree with it.

I guess the Blues could've kept Mason for $4+...does anyone think he'll get that in the open market?
