It will be an exciting day for hockey fans Thursday. Whether it is a great excited (your team trades for stud giving up little) or a horrible excited (your team trades stud and gets little).

Could get butchered here but I would really hate see us give up prime young talent from our NHL roster for an expensive stud like Speeza at this point in the Blues quest for the Cup. Even with a Speeza like stud, we are not ready to make a serious Cup run. We have a couple of more pieces to get into place IMO and a 7 million $ guy would greatly influence what we will be able to do with the young RFA's we have to sign in the coming 2 years. I wish we had that type money to spend but currently we don't.

This needs to happen!!!!! I don't like taking on the added year @ $4.5mil. Especially when we're apparently going to make a move for Kovy. Not to mention the Oshie/Berglund contracts expiring after this season. Cap could get messy next year.

But at this point anything to get Brewer off the roster is acceptable to me!

I feel the exact same way. I'm not a big fan of Souray, aside from his booming shot from the point, does he add much? Regardless, if it got Brewer out of town, I'm a-okay with it. I'm not a complete Brewer hater, but for this team to take the next step, we need a different captain, and Brewer needs to be off this roster.

What would be wild is if Kovy doesn't sign with ANYONE. He waits until the deadline for signing players before the playoffs, and joins a cup contender for bare minimum to win teh

From what I can tell, Souray has basically demanded a trade. Not sure the events that caused that, will look up to see if I can find anything, but he wants out.
