Blues sign UFA... winchester

Post by Winning Unlimited »

:cup:
ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced Friday the club has re-signed forward Brad Winchester.

Winchester, 29, played in 64 games this past season, recording eights points (three goals, five assists) and a career-high 108 penalty minutes.

During the 2008-09 campaign, the 6-5, 231-pound forward registered career-highs in points (21), goals (13) and assists (eight).

Winchester has skated in 247 career NHL games with the Blues, Edmonton and Dallas, collecting 42 points (21 goals, 21 assists) along with 350 penalty minutes.

The Madison, Wisconsin native was signed by St. Louis as a free agent on July 16, 2008 and was originally Edmonton’s second round selection, 35th overall, in the 2000 Entry Draft.

I'm 230 lbs. I'll take the league minimum to park my fat ass in front of the net and otherwise suck, just like Winchester. A budget conscious team like the Blues should really consider me instead of him for this role.

Yeah, I can't wait for my season ticket guy to call me this week. I'm sure that he'll find that to be a fun conversation. Something along the lines of, "The team hasn't given me a reason to buy tickets yet..."

YES! We need somebody willing to brawl it up. And I maintain that he could score 25-30 goals if he got regular PP time and a regular shift.
