Blues to win Cup

Post by ViPeRx007 »

Please form an orderly line people, for I have found the key to Stanley Cup glory for our St. Louis Blues. Recently a coworker of mine mentioned that a few years ago during a fishing trip near Dayton, Wyoming (population: 678), he stopped at their (I'm guessing) only gas station. After filling up and going in to pay he noticed something very strange. Much to his surprise he saw, amongst piles of Wyoming-this and Wyoming-that souvenirs, a lone hat that stood out from the rest. This hat was the brightest blue and seemed to be made of the finest thread in the land. Clearing away the other crap, he saw it. Embroidered on the side he saw the flying note. The sight caused him to jump back for the Avalanche fan is naturally repelled from anything Blues-related, plus he's just jumpy anyway. He left pondering how such an item came to rest in such a middle-of-nowhere location. Confused and slightly pissed due to gas prices, he returned to the highway and continued on his way.

On Friday of last week he informed me that he was returning to the promised land (as it will soon to be known as) of Dayton, WY for another fishing trip that weekend. He pondered whether the hat would still be there. "Surely after all these years it would be gone. But who knows, the Blues kind of suck.", he said. Today rolls around, as I groggily walked into the office and made my way to my desk I noticed something...THE HAT. He found it in the exact place he saw it years before. It haunted his dreams so he decided to take a chance and buy it for me:

I think it's safe to say that he not only cursed his Avalanche, but brought much happiness to the Hockey Gods regarding the state of professional hockey in St. Louis. Surely they can't help but bestow greatness on this team now, for THE HAT has been united with an actual fan. Long story short, you're welcome everybody. Feel free to get started on your championship party's now because in a few months we'll be sitting on top!

It appears to be made out of the finest denim that money can't buy (much like cousin eds suit in Christmas Vacation).

Awesome! This makes up for my similar fail story and brings positive karma back to the Blues. My boss (also an Avs fan coincidentally) spotted a Blues jersey at a thrift store near his house for $10. He told me about it and asked if I wanted him to get it for me. I said sure, and he stopped by on the way home that night, but it was already gone at that point. :(

I sure hope the "Hockey Gods" smile on StL Blues Soon...and often! I've been waiting my whole life for Blues to hoist Lord Stanley!

(A lady called the Blues the "Cubs of Hockey" which is kind of a bad omen...implying, of course, that the Cubs will win the World Series before we win the Cup???? Hmmmmm.)

Let's Go Blues!

DROP THE PUCK ALREADY!!!

I believe the 'Cubs of Hockey' would have been the Blackhawks, but now I think of Ottawa (city) actually has the longest streak without a Championship.

When the Blues go without a championship for 100 years, then they can be "The Cubs of hockey".

The Blues aren't even close to Cub-level futility.

I wonder if the boys still do the "Hard Hat Award" after games. I always thought it was good for the team comradery.

Funny timing, because a few weeks ago i made a bet with my buddy that the Blues would hoist the Cup before the Cubs win the World Series again.

Because you made that bet, you were also betting that you would both be alive when either one of those things happened.
