Bye Pete

Post by stlbluz »

Peter McLoughlin, CEO of St. Louis Blues Enterprises, is leaving the club to take an executive position with the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks, according to a source close to the situation. It is unknown at this time exactly what position McLoughlin will assume in Seattle.

As CEO of St. Louis Blues Enterprises, McLoughlin oversaw business operations of the Blues and Scottrade Center, including sales, marketing and finance.

It is not clear whether the Blues plan to fill McLoughlin’s position immediately nor what impact, if any, it may have on the team’s search for a new majority investor. The team has been seeking a new investor since early May, when TowerBrook Capital Partners announced it would divest its investment in the Blues – a major move considering the private-equity firm holds as much as a 75 percent stake in the club.

TowerBrook has indicated it will postpone divesting until Blues owner Dave Checketts can find a replacement, allowing the club some immediate security, but its long-term financial future seems uncertain until a new investor can be found.

The Blues have said their search continues in earnest, albeit slowly in an economy still seeking financial stability. Those close to the situation have described this stage as “kicking tires” and say that an agreement is far from imminent.

McLoughlin’s departure marks the end of a four-year run in his current position, as St. Louis Blues Enterprises was formed in July 2006 as a new division of the Blues and Scottrade Center.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

I remember talking to Pete back when Perron was getting his 10 game 'look' and him being a real pleasant guy to talk to. I hope thay can find a suitable replacement.

I don't remember where I read it (Asylum maybe?) that some part-time guy on the board is moving to STL to take over his duties full-time.
