This gives Pietrangelo another chance to up his recent performance and, possibly stick with The NHL team (at least, until Colaiacovo returns. [i]t's clear that Cole has outplayed him, and won the 6th spot. Nikitin seemed to have the edge for the 7th spot. With the latter out 4 weeks, Oystrick may take the 7th (pressbox) spot, as he has played better than Strachan. I hope Pietrangelo can break out with a couple great games now, right now, so Payne will be forced to keep both him and Cole up, even when Colaiacovo returns, in a week or two. When both Colaiacovo and Nikitin are back, and fully recovered, Pietrangelo will probably be sent to Peoria, unless he starts playing really, really well. Cole looks like the real thing.

There's something about this new look defense that worries me, but I guess we'll see. If they can produce some pointage and play respectable D, it should be ok.

They better have Halak watching a bunch of tapes of Fuhr in Edmonton so he can figure out how to stop 3 - 0 breaks.

Cole has looked solid and EJ may take his game to the elite level.

When Carlo gets back, if you skate him with Brewer, Polak with Jackman, and EJ with Cole...we could be alright. But when they've had Jackman on the ice with Pie...it's been an epic disaster.
