Looks like we won't get a chance to boo/cheer Mason Saturday

Post by DaDitka »

Pavelec said he felt fine following Monday’s practice, the first full workout he’s had since being cleared from concussion symptoms. He said he still needs another practice or two to get fully used to the speed of the game again.

The Thrashers have three games this week – Wednesday at the Rangers, Friday versus the Sabres and Saturday at the Blues. Coach Craig Ramsay said it looks like Pavelec’s return could come against the Blues.

I am possibly going to the game and if Mason is introduced, I'm standing up an cheering. Though prone to the softie, the guy gave his heart and soul to the Blues for 2 years and gave us that incredible playoff run. If someone boos...they are an idiot.

Mason stood on his head to get us to the 2009 playoffs. I'm with you.

Sadly, some may remember 3rd period meltdowns, and blame Chris Mason for that.

We will get a chance to cheer for Mason. The Blues might give him a welcome during the game.

I would cheer Mason, but I will also cheer the fact that he is gone and we are better in goal.

Dude was a pro, and brought his A game every night.

However, how often dude you leave the arena saying "Mason stole that one tonight"?

Mason was the main reason we made it to the playoffs two years ago.

The guy played well for us and seemed like a class act. I liked him.

I would have been fine with Mason in net this year, but we had to pull the trigger on Halak...he might be the best goalie in the NHL when the dust settles at the end of the season.

I don't think there is any way Mason gets any boos. He'll get a very nice ovation if he is in net or comes into the game at any point.

There were a couple of games down the stretch in the '08-'09 season where many of us said that the Blues would not have taken that one without Mason. It's not his fault he got Halak, and yes, by all accounts we're better in goal, but Mason took a slumbering team and put them firmly on his shoulders and carried them to the playoffs. More than any other player, he was our MVP of that '08-'09 team. He did steal some games for us. Probably not as many as Halak will, but he did steal some games for us.

This coming from the same crowd that boo's Chris Pronger for no apparent reason.

I will be attendance, and I will not boo him. He played his heart out for this team. Not his fault Brewer was back there on D.

This!

I am glad we got Halak, who is an upgrade, but I never understood the Mason hate.

I never particularly LIKED Mason, but I never disliked him. He was just kinda that "eh" type of player to me. I felt we could do better, but we could definitely do a lot worse.

Having said that, if I get tickets the guy will get some cheers for me.

I liked Mason. We're better off now (at least so it seems for the time being), but I got nothing against the guy.

I'd give him a standing ovation for getting (semi-)publicly pissed at Jackman.

I'd cheer for him if I went to the game.

Just think how much shit his wife's giving him. "You could have had 7 MILLION dollars over the next 2 years but held out for 500k and now we won't get HALF that. What the hell were you thinking?????"

I wouldn't boo baldy.

but I'm also very happy with Halak. It's been a long time since the Blues had a goalie who I felt comfortable would be able to keep them in a game, if not steal one for them.
