Beer Price Index is total BS

Post by thedoc »

http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_d ... nhl-280287

This is a link to Yahoo giving the beer price index per team. This could very well be some of the worst reporting ever. It list's us as having a price of $5 for 12oz. They cut our beers from 24oz to 20oz for more "responsible" distribution. This puts the price at $8.40 per beer. Not what we pay.

Now I know that there are some people that refill a cup during period breaks (guilty). But even DaDitka and I can't move the scale to this level of inaccuracy.

I would almost think that JR wrote this piece because there is no truth in it at all.

Beer was $9 for a normal size cup when I went to the opener. I guess it was 20oz. I'm not sure.

I like having a beer or three at the game, but let me be the first to say **** that.

What is the trick with a flask? Just put it in your pocket? For some reason I'm always paranoid.

What do they do if they catch you? Kick you out?

pocket is all you need. They never check guys unless you have your man purse with you. Get a soda and then go use the bathroom. Use one of the stalls to pour your beverage or "go out to smoke" to fill it up.

No matter how they twist this....they are wrong..

The 20 oz draft is $9... that breaks down to $.45 per ounce...12 x .45 = $5.40 for 12 oz.

The 16 oz bottle is $8.00.. that breaks down to $.50 per ounce...12 x .50 = $6.00 for a 12 oz.

The only thing they could be referring to is the Bud Light Zone where you can purchase 12 oz bottle for $5 (so I'm told). But if you're in there during play...WTF are you doing at a hockey game to begin with?

Then you can always do the beer garage trick

Buy one beer before the game and take that cup out to "smoke" to your car or a friends car in the garage. In that car you have a cooler full of your own beer or kool-aid and you get your own refill.

Yeah, might have to try that sometime if I ever drive there. Unfortunately I always take the metro, the Fairview stop is like 2 mins from my parents house.

The trick is to use a flash, not take in a fifth like ForeCheck did. You remember what happened then, right?
