As long as he stays out of Hockey decisions, he's great with the media (I'm not slighting him there, IMO that's a big job)

I appreciate everything he's done for us 'with Larry', I just don't want Armstrong's hands tied.

It will be great for Armstrong to have JD, Larry, and guys like Al to bounce ideas off of and to brianstorm with, I just don't want things getting too complicated with to many 'chiefs'.

That was first thought.....not just Shanahan or anyone else.....but this very well could be a sign they are relatively close to making a sale.

I've read that Mike Shanahan has been trying to gather together a local group of businessmen to buy out the Towerbrook shares (75% of the total shares). Supposedly, they made a bid of $100 million that was rejected. It was rumoured that Towerbrook wants $140 million. The franchise value is estimated to range from $165-175 million. Maybe they can make a deal at $120 million?

I don't know a ton of who to give credit to for good/bad decisions in the organization, but I feel we are in a better spot now than when he got here. And, I expect it to continue improving.

I think you are referring to Stillman, who is currently a minority owner. Shanahan is a former owner who is trying to stay out of the slammer for stock manipulation or something.

Yes, sorry, I meant Stillman (owner of the large beer distribution company). I mixed Shanahan in there, as for a while, a few months ago, there was a rumour going round that Shanahan was considering joining Stillman's local group.

That has to be good news. I think everyone in the hockey world likes JD...he's just a likeable guy period. Any time you have someone like that on your side, it's a good thing.

I've never understood people who blame JD for everything. I like that he's back and that he's here for a few more years. You build an organization with good people and hard workers and things start to turn around. In that regard, JD is the face of the team. He's always answered the tough questions when asked, etc. Hard not to like the guy.
