A trade is imminent according to Rutherford on Twitter. There were rumblings about a trade involving Columbus earlier.

If a trade does even happen, I'm guessing a dman will be traded since Cole is up and Huskins is getting close to returning, probably be N64. I doubt it, but I hope it's Jackman cause he sucks. I'm not just basing that on tonight's performance, but this year so far and last year.

Trading Nikitin makes sense with Cole's ascension, but acquiring another defenseman doesn't help the crowding any...?

Sounds like the Blues found a Mike Weaver-like player.

That would be ideal.
I used to think that having Nikitin would somehow help Tarasenko come over, in the sense that he'd have a fellow Russian to help him out... Oh well. I wish N64 the best.

So we traded the jinx for a bottom line D? Considering the streak of good fortune the acquisitions made by the Front Office have been lately (Langs, Arnott, Elliott and now Russ), I'm excited. Whoever they got locked in the closet so they can make these upgrade deals better lose the darn key :D

I like the deal, even though I don't know a whole lot about Russell. But Nikitin had stalled out here and I'm curious to see what Russell can bring to the table.

I think this move makes a lot of since, look for them to sit Jacks soon. I know I bash him a lot, but he not only sucked last night, he did move his skates and Hitch will not stand for that. I'm sure they will say later that it was because of some secret injury but but Hitch will still sit him soon...the effort was unacceptable last night.

Is this a Peoria move or an NHL move?

Well, we've still got Grachev, and he speaks better English than Nikitin too. Maybe that'll help.

They sure make it sound like an NHL move with all the talk of the speed he's going to bring. And that was a big thing Hitch talked about at his presser.......moving on D.

I think Carlo might be moved. Just a hunch.

So is Russell going to be an assistant coach too?

Could be with the contract situation an all as well, but I thought he had a really strong game last night and he fits what Hitch is looking for a lot more then a guy like Jackman, but you're not going to get any takers on Jacks and I actually think Carlo would draw a much better return then many think. On this team he's our 3rd best offensive D-man, but he could get top billing as one on a lot of teams.

Jackman would have much more value in return if it was closer to the trade deadline. He has that "veteran experience" teams look for at that time. Right now, I'm not sure who would get more in return.

Is it fair to say that Hitchcock will have no qualms in having Army blow up the roster to get who and what he wants?
Trade Jackman for a serviceable forward.
