Huskins

Post by drwoland »

I guess he had surgery?.. Bummer, we're gonna be real thin at the D. Probably gonna force Hitch to keep running Jackman out there.

Sadly, yes. With Jackman's play last night though, I would rather have seen Chorney out there.

What about Cade Fairchild? +13 in the AHL. Maybe he should get some ice time in Jackman's place.

After the last couple of games, I think Jackman needs to be a healthy scratch for a game or two, seems like he's just making some poor decisions.

I hope things go better for Huskins then they did for Porkins. As I recall things went downhill shortly after that photo was taken.

So is Kris Russell - 5' 10 - 180

Fairchild - 5' 11 - 175. Besides, he is only 22 (3 years younger than Russell) and should put on more weight.

I don't buy the size argument any more after we realized how good Weaver (5' 9 - 188) was killing penalties. And I am still not buying it with Russell already having scored 3 goals in 8 games as a Blue.

Paul Kariya anyone?

Especially post-lockout with a much greater emphasis on puck movement, speed and creativity (translated: Europeanized), players don't have to be that big anymore to play in the NHL. If anything, bigger guys have more of a handicap if they can't keep up with the speed and are only good for bruising. The demise of the "enforcer only" role should be solid evidence of that. Truth is: you have to be able to skate and be marginally useful to play. Period. Even fighters.
