I'm not sure how much more he could have got after the season as a free agent. Yes his value is higher now, but few teams are going to give a huge contract to a guy after one good season. He'd probably get a little more, assuming he continues to play very well. He might have been able to get $2.5 million or so from someone, but it would only be for a couple years.
Nobody is going to give him a lot of money over a long contract yet. That may happen after he proves himself over time, over the next two years here.
Yeah, I figured he'd get around 2.5 - 3 mill a year on a 3 year deal on the open market.
Bishop is gone. Is contract is up at the end of the year, so why not get something for him?
If the team we trade him two get's him 15 starts in the NHL this season they will retain his rights.

Yeah, you have to think Bishop is gone if someone wants him. No point in keeping him if we are set for at least 2 years up here.
Bishop probably has no real value. What could we get for him? I think the absolute best case scenario would be a 3rd round pick. And that's probably wishful thinking.

I don't know what to expect back, but something is better than nothing. His trade value probably is as part of a package deal rather than a straight up trade. He's a young goalie putting up very solid numbers in the AHL, so I think he probably would get some interest around the league.

I know this sounds crazy, but I think the guy to move is Elliott. He has the most value, and is red hot.
I know he played like a madman in the first half, but we've all seen this play out before. Not just on the Blues, but league-wide.
I'm not saying we should rush out and trade him (we shouldn't) but at the same time, I think that of the three (Halak, Elliott and Bishop) he is the most best player to move.
