In two seconds. Any takers? 8)
If I was betting $1000 on either San Jose or St. Louis?

Hell yes I'm putting it on St. Louis. They are the better team and have played better all season long. And more importantly, they have better defense and goaltending.

Just like good pitching shuts down good hitting, a good defense shuts down a good offense on most nights.

The smart money is on St. Louis. No question.

Can San Jose win? Sure. But they shouldn't.

Yeah, you can discuss who is the 'best team' in the playoffs, but I don't see anyone having a better first round match-up. We don't have to worry about a hot goaltender like Smith or Quick. This isn't 'homer-ism' this is fact.

If I had to place a wager on any team in the western conference playoffs to win their first round match-up...I'd put it on the Note (no question)

That by no means make the series a gimme...I just think we have the best 'match-up' of the four. (I must disclose that NY and NJ have easier match-ups in the East IMO)

Not sure how much I like this, but from ESPN:
San Jose Sharks vs. St. Louis Blues

Left for dead earlier this season, the Blues had a turnaround for the ages under the guidance of Jack Adams front-runner Ken Hitchcock. Their goal differential over the past 35 games is plus-25, making them an obstacle as the Sharks attempt to avoid another postseason disappointment.

Chance of St. Louis Blues winning series: 90 percent

Prediction: Blues in four

I think the reason the Blues dominated the Sharks this season is pay-back for David Perron. It just seemed to me the Blues played their best games against San Jose all season. I don't see that changing in the playoffs. The Blues have that additional motivation to beat them into the ground. Thanks, Joe Thornton!

I've been holding off saying it but can't help myself now. I hope someone's personal mission is to make that bastard pay. That is all.

They've had multiple chances to make someone pay.

If it hasn't happened by now, it's not happening. Especially in the playoffs.
