Here's a gif of the Weber play. He has to be suspended at least one game for that.
I'm all about schadenfreude against the Wings, but damn...
Yeah, I think a suspension is likely.
Maybe he was imagining it was Kirk Maltby.

No injury on the play, he was boarded first. No suspension.

Zetterberg did hit him high and into the boards...so Weber was naturally upset...but damn.
Playoff games are much more important than reg season games, and a 2 game suspension during the reg season may only be a game in the playoffs,
If this warranted 2 games during the reg season, it would only be 1 game in the playoffs.
Would that play bring a 2 gamer during the season?
I think so. Weber probably gets a game.
Happy the Wings lost though. I hate Detroit even more for making me root for Nashville. Ugh.

Won't matter in this case. My guess, he's going to get at least 2 games if not 3.
He took Zetterburg's head and smashed it into the glass... I mean come on. Blatant INTENT to injure even if he didn't succeed and especially since the "penalty" Weber got was a pointless after-the-fact one... oh yea, he's getting suspended. Stupid, stupid play. Not helping your team by sitting in the pressbox.

Do you know what Red Wings fans are saying? Guess. Just guess.
The're saying this is just like Bertuzzi jumping on Steve Moore.
LOLOLOL
I'm not sure which is funnier, that they are comparing it that situation at all or that they are using their own player as the standard for dirtiness.
It should definitely be a suspension though. But, I heard on NBCSN this morning that they are thinking of not suspending him because Zetterberg didn't get hurt.

No way he gets three games. If it was the reg. season...maybe.

Not surprising at all.
They aren't used to the rough stuff in Detroit. And God forbid someone take a cheap shot against a Wings player.
Because Shanahan tends to suspend any player who plays hard against the Wings, they think something like this is a lifetime ban.
Yes, it was bad. He should get something, maybe a game...but you never know...it is Shanahan dishing out the suspensions now...he could get 50 games because it was on the precious Zetterberg. If Weber did that to Backes, Backes would get suspended for failing to get out of the way of Weber's fist.
Great teammates Zetterberg has eh? Nobody came to his defense or did anything.
Something should be said about the boarding hit by Zetterberg on Weber. That's why he was upset...it was a blatant board against the glass. That doesn't condone what Weber did, not even close, but it wasn't some random act of violence. That should play into the suspension decision. Zetterberg is not some 100% innocent casualty here.
And after reviewing the play a few times, to me, it wasn't as bad as it first looked. I don't think Zetterberg was hurt at all. Good actor he is.
