Best Twitter post of the night by Scott Cullen of TSN:

"Lots of intensity tonight, but one sight that stood out to me: the Blues' Roman Polak at the end of STL-SJ. Strong as an ox and kinda scary."

That was seriously the best hockey game played in this town since Game 5 of the '91 playoffs, first round against Detroit. I am not joking... 21 years. Sure, we've had nice regular season wins, but playoff hockey always trumps regular season hockey. That was a thing of beauty.

btw, a close look at that last goal shows it to be Andy Mac's. When TJ flipped it over Niemi, it clearly hits AMac's stick on the way. it should be #10's goal.

Holy good God shit that was the best game I might have ever seen. My Dad snagged his company's tickets and gave them to me because he went to the Cards game.

Freaking awesome!

I have never been so proud of the guys for keeping things together until the game was salted away then beating some ass.

SJ were punks all night long, and the end of regulation our guys said no (Franking) way, assholes.

Sharks' coach says vlad the impailer had a sucker punch? seriously? He's the smallest guy on the ice and plays like a lion. I am glad he kicked someone's ass. (Frank) you, douchenozzle.

God, remind me never to anger Roman. Holy (Frank) he went batshit crazy and whipped some ass. I LOVE IT.

If berglund plays with a sack the rest of the playoffs I may take back many of the nasty things I have said about him.

Soooo glad #25 sat this game. I really want Reeves back for game 3 tho, I feel he has truly earned it.

I'd guess the sucker punch occured once the douche was on the ice. Vladdie nailed him good with one... it might have been for show though, right on the top of the helmet. The fans sure loved it.

Roman, however, was dead serious about killing Braun.

Good start until the bench broke (wtf?), then the sharks really took it to us for a good 7 or 8 minutes.
The rest of the game we cranked it back up.

Loved the rough stuff.
What the hell was McClellan referring to in the post game news conference? Sucker punch? Broken nose? Who did that happen to?

San Jose deserved the beat down at the end of the game. They had it coming. They were taking liberties all game.

Burns is a piece of shit.

The hit on McDonald should be reviewed by Shanahan. Blatant cheap shot, shoulder targeted McDonald's head. That's a dangerous, nasty hit.
Regular season he'd be gone for a few games at least. Playoffs...meh...they probably won't do squat.

I love the fact that, so far, our "inexperienced & younger guys" are shoving it in the collective faces of everyone who questioned their ability to perform in the playoffs.

Berglund has that pep in his step, that urgency now. He has really cranked it up for the playoffs and is getting results. Great to see. :okman:
He should have had his 3rd goal of the playoffs tonight on a great redirect, if not for a crazy toe save by Niemi.

Sobotka broke Moore's nose, which obviously pissed off the Sharks.

Per JR: Hitch on extracurricular stuff at the end: “Boys will be boys. You found out, don’t open the Roman Polak door. Don’t ever open that door."

This is just sick. Yeah, I think it's safe to say that Oshie is a bit better than last year.

So.... the Sharks are running around all game long, targeting the head with elbows & shoulders...and McClellan is whining about a cheap shot against one of his players?

What a douche.

There was a fight earlier in the game where a Shark player threw and uppercut well after the refs had come in and the fight was over. I guess McClellan missed that. I guess McClellan missed Crombeen getting punched in the face while being held from behind by another Shark.

I doubt that. Just like I doubt Zetterberg's helmet was cracked in three places.
