I am no Red Wings fan but I am surprised to see Weber on any sort of a list after what he did to Zeterberg. Besides a wanted list maybe. That was criminal.

Well all awards are prior to playoff time...with that being said surprised not to see Pie on there.

Karlsson is the reason they should create a Bobby Orr or Paul Coffey award for best offensive defenseman while keeping the Norris for best all-around defenseman. Karlsson was not that good at defense this season and every time someone discusses his candidacy they only mention his offense. He is why Pietrangelo is not a finalist.

Karlsson shouldn't be a finalist. He doesn't even kill penalties. How in the hell can someone be nomiated for the best defenseman who doesn't even kill penalties???

Stupid.

The Marek vs. Wyshynski podcast had a good point about this, how it usually takes the PHWA a few years to "realize" that a player belongs in the conversation as a finalist. It took Chara a few years to break through the Lidstrom slob-fest, and it has taken Shea Weber a few years to break through the Chara slob-fest. Karlsson is a bit of a different story because he plays in a Canadian market.

Pietro will get there, probably next year. It's stupid, but the PHWA doesn't watch enough games from around the league to make accurate judgments. It's generally a reputation vote, like the All-Star game.

The Norris Trophy is a (Franking) joke. The fact that Scott Stevens never won one is absurd.

Why didn't they give one to that freaking pussy Phil Housley? I'm shocked they didn't.

They are keeping pretty quiet but it is the NHL playoffs, so that isn't too abnormal

Well he didn't practice today but he has not been ruled out, hitch says Cole is in if Petro can't go.

Can't link good on this thing, ESPN NHL news said that

I'm not sure why anyone thinks Pie is a slam dunk for the Norris. His numbers aren't gaudy and he's not physical. He's gotta do one or the other and he hasn't so far. Yeah, he's very, very good, but he's not Norris material yet. A big reason for this is he plays in St. Louis so people aren't seeing his intangibles, good decision making, and calm under fire night after night.

If there ever was a good argument for Pie winning the Norris it's this pathetic joke of a game.

Shit. If this is how the Blues play without him, he should win the effing Hart.
