Los Angeles has been remarkably inept at home in the past three postseasons, losing six of its last seven - including a potential clinching Game 4 in the first round against Vancouver.

I don't think the past three postseasons are any indication given how they are currently playing.
Just like how some folks say the Blues have lost 6 of their last 8 home games in the playoffs...or something like that. That goes back 10 years and most of those games were played on teams with different players, different coaches, etc. It's an irrelevant/meaningless/pointless stat.
Irrelevant/meaningless/pointless is your game plan? I got to hang on to sumpin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! : )

Is the start of this game going to be on another channel if the other game goes late?

STEWART SCORED.

Oh wait, Kings just scored again. Damn it.

At least Elliott is making the roster decisions next year easy, because he's not going to be on this team next year. Two easy saves, and he's 0-2. If you can't stop Dwight King (who is not a hockey player) on a breakaway, you're no good.

Same ol' sorry Blues. Same story, different year.

Oh my God. Halak is looking awfully good right now.

At this point, put Jake Allen in. Elliot is giving up bad goals and he shot a puck over the glass. Just let him rest.

I told my wife tonight that I'm slowly coming to the realization that we only have two more nights (including tonight) of Blues hockey until September/October.

How (Franking) difficult can it be to get the puck into the offensive zone on the power play!!!??? At this point, all they're trying to do is not to let any shorthanded goals be scored. If you don't even try to place a pass after you're over the red line and just keep dumping it, what's the use of the f-ing PP? Put the shit over the glass, then at least we'll be 4 on 4 instead...

It's just men against boys out there. Blues can't do anything. We can't deal with the forecheck, we can't get the puck under control in the offensive zone (only scoring chances we're getting are off of rushes when we get a half step on the Kings dmen), we're barely hanging on in our defensive zone, still coughing it up like crazy and Elliott is shaky.

Just not happening. It's not there.

Stewart's backhand is sick though.

Brian Elliott sucks. He's simply not good enough to play at this level. He has absolutely folded up under pressure. Hopefully we can get a pick for him in the offseason.

NBC Announcers tonight: We love the Kings. They're so dreamy. I want Dustin Brown to take me to dinner and a movie. Drew Doughty's beard makes my pants tighter. Darryl Sutter's muttering make my loins quake.

Three games, and I'm not convinced we have a STAR, much less a win.

If this is the best you can do with a #8 seed, you need some major work. We look at least three good players away from being a contender. And, since this is St. Louis, we're only going to get one journeyman.

I honestly am not even that excited about this team trying to win game 4. They look beaten, and we're just wasting time that should be spent on scouting the draft and releasing guys.

Who knew all that talk about not choosing Elliott because of his lack of playoff experience would actually turn out to be completely spot on. I for one was in the Elliott camp but I stand corrected. Just horrible goaltending in this game, and if we are to be honest, he hasn't looked that sharp in postseason overall. Sure, he hasn't made the mistakes like he did tonight, but he's been nowhere near his regular season numbers and he hasn't made those key stops like he did before.

On the other hand, we're not losing this series because of Elliott. Blues have been outplayed in every aspect of the game.

Twist just said to Steen in the postgame interview that it looks like the Blues have given up. Wooooooow. Welcome to St. Louis hockey.

Announcers were doing the same thing for us when we were pwning the Sharks' souls. Hard not to appreciate it when things are working, as everything has been for the Kings.

I would HOPE you know as well as I do that it's not about where you're seeded, it's about how you're playing entering the postseason and the Kings were/are on fire.

There's a reason they knocked off the #1 seed defending Western Conference champs in 5 games, there's a reason they are handing it to us in the 2nd round and if they keep it up I wouldn't put it past them to go all the way. You can't honestly tell me that just because we're losing to an 8 seed that it's time for a total shake-up.

I think it's pretty bloody obvious that this team isn't close. A team becomes a #8 seed for a reason. Only in hockey does someone make excuses for highly-seeded teams choking. Vancouver is going to make major changes, and so should STL, starting with Elliott/Stewart/Cola and getting some scoring.

Just in general I'm trying to look on the brighter side of things right now; given that I think it's next to impossible to beat the Kings 4 straight:

We were in the running for the President's Trophy right up to the end of the regular season and disposed of a playoff-experienced opponent in the first round of the playoffs in 5 games, the first series win for this franchise in almost a decade.

Progress folks, progress.

And no, you can't solely point the finger at Elliott. Our collective team looks confused and is playing poorly and unable to handle the pressure the Kings are throwing at us. I think it's terribly unfair to say he's a "lost cause" and go all panic-button just because of his play in one series.
