Dreger: " it's Anisimov. Dubinsky, Erixon and a 1st rd pick to CBJ for Rick Nash."

Price came WAY down.

Well they simply weren't getting anything close to what they wanted and they wanted it over is my guess.

(Frank)!

The BJ's got raped, the Rangers got off cheap and they're now the hands down favorites to win it all next season. Goddammit!

Hmmm...
I foresee a disappointing year for Nash.

You'd think they could have gotten more picks.

Columbus fans should be pretty pissed.

Columbus also sent a 3rd round pick and a minor league defensive prospect to New York.

Wow.

Wait, I thought Minnesota was the favorite to win the Cup?

This does make NYR better but they flopped last season, I wouldn't crown 'em yet. I know you have more at stake than the rest of us though haha.

The Jackets hadn't and wern't going anywhere with Nash to begin with. I think this was for the best, now they can assemble a playable team without that nasty cap hit to worry about. I think the team that got raped in this deal was the Rangers; if they do lower the cap, it'll nail them harder than Columbus, plus its ALOT of money to put trust into one player for. Rags want to do it, more power to them.

I look at this akin to the SF Giants and Barry Bonds. Yes, you got one of the top players in the league. You didn't win your first championship in SF til after he left The City. I feel this will be the same for Columbus, or I hope it is. Heck of a hockey market to have a team that sucks.

This shit honestly pisses me off. They were so concerned with making Detroit better and having to face Nash a few times but the wings would have given up so much the benefit would have been negligible. Instead the rags rape the jackets and I get to hear all the arrogant fans all season long planning cup watching parties before training even starts.

Meh. The way I look at it, teams loaded with lots of big names don't always succeed automatically. The Rangers have tried this before, and how many Cups have they won since 1994?

I'm just happy that Detroit isn't getting any of the top names.

Their fans thought they'd be getting one or two of these guys. All last season and this offseason they were all about Parise, Nash, Suter, Weber, etc..but they are all signing and being traded elsewhere.

But hey, they got Tootoo.

I long for the day when they miss the playoffs. That day will come soon and it will be f'ing glorious.

Eh I think the BJ's shouldn't have been so gun shy. If you're getting two names in exchange for one name, it's not like you're dramatically improving the other team to the point that you have to be afraid of facing them. The best player they got from the Rags was Dubinsky and he's an underperformer if ever there was one. From the Wangs, they could have gotten a better haul. If I'm trading with the Rangers, the conversation starts with McDonagh and hopefully includes Hagelin.

Am I the only one who thinks the BJ's didn't make out too bad?

Dubinsky is a year removed from 24 goals and 54 points and Anisimov is around 20 goal territory... if you're looking at strictly production that's a wash right there.

Dubinsky had a bad year I think he's a great player and he's going to get a LOT of playing time in CBJ.

And isn't Erixon supposed to be a stud in the making? Considering the Jackets wanted guys to step in and play right now, they didn't do too bad IMO. And the first rounder obviously was a given.
