D-day is tomorrow and the players nor the owners are budging. So, so stupid. I don't care who is wrong or right, just settle this thing. 3 work stoppages under Bettman is a pathetic statistic to add to one's resume.

I'm quickly becoming bored with hockey. Not the NHL...the sport. Darren Rovell is right. Half of the problem is that Bettman knows that he can do anything and the "hardcore" fans will come back in exactly the same numbers. Listen to them: two lost seasons in less than ten years, and so many are like, "Oh well. See you in 2013."

Bettman has miscalculated one thing: hockey is in the process of being replaced by soccer as the fourth sport in the country. MLS is getting stronger every year, the international calendar runs during hockey's season, and the game experience is better. If the NHL disappears, I (and surely others) will simply replace the NHL with soccer and not rush back to fling my dollars down the memory hole. Another lost season will cost the NHL teams and players, and it'll be hard for it to recover. But, by all means, lock out a year. Go ahead.

The day someone forces me to watch soccer is the day I quit watching all sports.

Guess I need to catch some AHL games now.....lets go blues.....errr I mean Rivs.

Regardless I hope the season isn't lost yet and the can come to terms before January, I'm guessing the NHL will at least wait till the winter classic is lost before they call the season.

1. Because they're all douchebags?
2. Because such is the curse of being a Blues fan?
3. Because they're douchebags?
4. Because your wife doesn't give a flying crap about your nutritional needs?

I'm honestly surprised at how angry the lockout made me. I knew it was coming and was prepared for it. And then it happened and I just got really bitter. It shouldn't have come to this and yet it did. Way to go, Bettman. There's a reason you're booed every where you go (except Winnipeg).

I predict Tarasenko never plays a meaningful game for the Blues as a result of this bullshit.

He is listed on the rivermans roster, so at least we will get to see him play and if we do loose one season he will be back the next

I hope so because I'd hate to have all the hype then lose him forever. Maybe next year looking back this will actually be the best thing for him.

I have no interest in watching a minor-league product based in Peoria Freaking Illinois in place of the NHL. Call me when you want to play again. And, frankly, I'm not sure whether I'll pick up the phone or not.

To me Hockey is Hockey, paying someone 5m+ a year doesn't make it any better of a product than to someone making 250K, 25K or even 25 bucks. Gary Bettman and the NHL don't legitimize jack to me, it's a league with a hundred year plus legacy thanks to a CHALLENGE CUP that they changed the rules to, to capitalize on it's legacy.

I refuse to let Bettman ruin the sport for Hockey for me as I'm sure he has single handedly done to others. Look at an AHL or an ECHL or any other league as substandard to the NHL if you'd like, to me a substandard team is one that can't keep their finances in line, can't keep a season together and can't find a middle ground in the now for long-term success and growth across ALL teams, and that is EXACTLY what the old guard of the NHL is doing.

There are the teams in the NHL that are so substandard that it's ridiculous, but because they're a part of the NHL they're considered elite above any other league and that is ridiculous. When the talent get fed up and move down to another league or overseas, that says to me right there that those players find the NHL substandard to what they're trying to do: Play Hockey and make money.

Think about that.

The Blues sent him down to Peoria with a host of other people the other day. Doesn't mean he won't jet back to Russia. Saw a tweet the other day that said there's one team over there who really wants his services but the Blues are trying to sway him into staying in North America until November in case they get this thing resolved.
