Suspension or not?

We have discussions over here, if the guy should be suspended, and if yes for how many games.
The guy who makes the check is not "known" for such things, so it actually is his "first" check, which is under investigation. The guy who took the hit has a light concussion.
My opinion would be 8-10 games (we have 50 games a season), I somehow was shocked when I saw it the first time on TV.
