I would allow Marc Bergevin to jump on the ice every night, throw the puck in the Blues' net to start each game and allow the Blues to fight back from a 1-0 deficit with 60:00 to go over no hockey at all.

How in Hell. It's a bizarro, once-in-a-lifetime, head-scratcher of a batcrap play that is, in my opinion, a cut above everything else we have here, Smith's legendary tally included.
What's more, the play is so outside anyone's frame of reference that everybody involved just sort of... blacks out for two full seconds.
Does the author, Harrison Mooney, think Bergevin did this on purpose?
The way the article is written and even the comments after that article gave me the impression that nobody understands he was just trying to throw it behind his net and he just hooked it into his own net.
Yes, it was a horrible moment in Blues history...a bad break to say the least, but is it really outside the frame of anyone's reference? You see players throw pucks all of the time, this one happened to go in the net.

Surely people get that?
