The NHL isn't expected to announce the 2013 schedule before Saturday, when the players' union wraps up voting on the new collective-bargaining agreement, but a source has confirmed that the Blues will open the season against a Central Division rival.

Ken Hitchcock's club will commence the 48-game schedule against the Detroit Red Wings on Jan. 19 at Scottrade Center. Face-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Tickets have not yet gone on sale for the game and won't until the schedule is made official, which again will likely be on Saturday.

The Blues' six-day training camp will kick off on Sunday at Scottrade Center and will be open to the public. The practices are expected to begin at 11 a.m., with a couple scrimmages during the week scheduled for the evening, around 7 p.m.

Hitchcock is holding scrimmages at night to acclimate the Blues' to being active when the actual games will be played.

Friday was the final informal practice at the Mills.

The workout, in front of a packed house, featured the arrival of Russian forward Vladimir Tarasenko, who will wear No. 91. Every roster player is now accounted for, as the team heads into a day off Saturday and the start of the camp Sunday.
