A nasty backhand goal by Bergy, both goals were right where he needs to be(in front of the net).

I'm guessing that wagon is pretty empty this morning.

Yeah, I was never on the 'trade Stewart' bandwagon to begin with.

My reasoning behind trading DP was based on him being completely miss-cast on that first line. Much of his 'selfish play' was often a result of no one to pass it to. It's pointless to skate your most offensively talented forward on a line that we're told their first responsibility is shutting the opponent's top line down. And I wasn't campaigning to move him (again, he's possibly the most talented offensive player on the roster), I was merely discussing why it could be a reasonable thing to do.

If you insist on 'miss using' him, why keep him?

But that was then.....now this line is the shiznit!

What time is the parade?
Sometime between the 28th and 30th of June. Finals ends 28th, draft 30th at 3.
Be warned, I'll be punching people that can't answer blues trivia from more than five years ago at the parade.

So a lot of the problem has been Hitch being incompetent with setting up his lines and unable to work scoring into his D strategy? It makes one wonder how many more Cups the Stars would have if this was the case. That's scary.

I say that half-jokingly since I don't think anyone sat here and said 'Yeah, put Perron, Stew and Bergy on the same line, that's what we should do'. If they can keep this up, that line is pure money.

Six goals total. Now that's playing with power! :okman:

Hopefully Hitch leaves this alone and starts Allen against the Sharks. I want to see Teal obliterated, THIS I COMMAND!! Serpentor hisses

I was always wondering why they were doing that instead of forcing the opponents top line to try and shut down our guys. With the talent we have, we should be able to use our first line to score, not to check.

If we can consistently see that Berglund, Stewie and DP are being used--and succeeding in--a purely offensive role and the rest of the team is being used appropriately as well, then I see no reason to trade any of them. Perron is clearly not a defensive minded player, I think that was the rap on him going into his draft anyway. If they're being misused and that's causing both horrendous defensive lapses and a severe lack of offensive opportunities then that's on Hitch.

Given that they've scored 10 goals in the past 2 games, I'm not even thinking about the 3rd period meltdown v. LA. If they can have a line that consistently pots goals and find a way to also consistently hold a lead, they'll be fine. If they score 6 and give up 7 every night then I'll be rather pissed off. I'd not be against a bunch of 6-3 wins.
