I quite enjoyed the game last night. The last time I was that pumped after a win, was probably last year's playoffs vs. San Jose.
I am not concerned about the few times where Chicago dominated the game, they have the best record in the league...they're going to do that to everyone, I don't care who you are. I thought the Blues played a solid road game against the Hawks. They were able to bend without breaking, got the goaltending and came back to win.
Elliott was very strong. Great to see. I don't blame him for any of the goals against. I'll give credit to the Hawks for making some nice plays. If Elliott plays this well every night, we'll be fine.
Aside from Bouwmeester getting smoked by Toewes early in the game (in which he didn't get a shot on net BTW...), I thought he was good. He made some nice plays, and you can tell already that this team is better with him in the lineup.
Say what you will about Jackman's play from time to time, but what I love most about him is his badass scowl and attitude and how he doesn't take crap from anyone. Emery was running his mouth and Jackman came over and gave him an earful. Awesome.
And to think...we could have drafted Toews in 2006...but we chose E.J. Big fail there.
That's one of the more thrilling shootouts I've seen the Blues involved in. Roller coaster of emotions in that game and in the shootout.
Convincingly taking 2 pts in Minnesota against one of the hottest teams in the league...then going into Chicago and beating the best team in the NHL in a barn burner. Killer.
Now you can't lose to Columbus tonight at home....you can't.
