a) Kings
b) Vancouver
c) San Jose
d) Hawks
e) Sharks

I'm not sure we can play the Hawks, can we? but the team I fear most is the Kings again. Give me the Sharks in a 3 vs 7 matchup?

Opinions?

I suppose I'll go with C and E since they're the same. Really though, you gotta prepare for anybody. You have to get through them all anyway.

Chicago. Because taking them out in the first round would be a major confidence booster and show us we can actually win this damn thing. Waiting out and hoping another team gets lucky is silly. We're either good enough and hungry enough to raise the Cup or not. To me it doesn't matter what team you get, if you're not hungry and good enough, you can forget it. And I feel we're at least good enough to win it as we stand now.

Statistically speaking, LA is the most likely opponent at this moment.

Dream scenario? 4/5 vs. the Sharks. Although it would be nice to bebeat Chicago in the first round of their President's trophy season again, but I'd rather not fall to the 8th seed.

We still don't have that playoff seed locked up by the way, far from it. We gotta keep the pedal to the metal these next 11 games.

I know they seem to be in our heads a bit, but the Kings.

Before their game Saturday, Quick had given up 12 goals in the last 4 contests and his save percentage is still below 900% for the season.

I also think climbing that mental hurdle early could really build confidence and momentum, two things we'll need to take out the Hawks or the Ducks.

Are you kidding...The Red Wings. I want the opportunity to kick their butts in the post season (before anyone else has a chance to) and send them home crying before they jump ship to the Eastern Conference. This is our last chance to do that early on in the playoffs and we owe them big time for multiple years past. This year, I want the wings early in the post season and I hope the boys in blue crush them like a bug.

It's not impossible, but it's definitely a long shot that we meet the Wings in the first round.

I agree with your sentiments though. I have not seen the Blues beat the Wings in a playoff series in my lifetime, and would love for their last game in the western conference be payback from us.

Yes we can play the hawks if we are in #8 when the dust settles.

Your preferred match is impossible - because #3 plays #6, but that would be an interesting matchup as a #3 v#6.

Tbh, I really only care if we win the cup. I am pretty tired of "it was a good run" or "we played a hot team" or any other excuse.

So we can play anyone in any round, and on paper we can win the series, so let's just play hockey and win.

I just want to make it in first. Once we're there, I don't care who we play. Every team is going to be tough during a 7 game series. There's so much parity in the league at the moment, there aren't routinely dominant teams any longer. But, while I'm at it, I'd prefer:

Canucks
Kings
Sharks
Ducks
Hawks

We've played the Ducks pretty well this year. I think we could give them all they could handle if we end up in a 2-7 matchup with them.

We own the Sharks.
I know they are playing well right now, but I like how we matchup against them.

If Detroit does happen to get into the playoffs, I want them to hang around until we can match up with them...and then we take them down and send them packing to the Eastern Conference.

I'm down to play the sharks or kings, I think we can nail that.

I would love to see the hawks get taken out first round though..that would be epic

Easiest team would seem to be San Jose. Hawks, of course, are insanely good. Kings, I feel, will light up some teams again.

I strongly dislike the idea of being a 7-8 seed because 1) Hawks/Ducks are ahead of the pack and 2) It likely means we let down a little bit in the last 10 games (in my mind, we already have the 4 seed with how we're playing).

I don't really care who we play outside of Chicago/Anaheim.
