Blues were in on Weiss to the end per reports. Also sounds like they might have interest in Grabovski. Unfortunately, some of the other names like Gordon, Cullen, etc. that were back up options for the Blues, are gone.
Iggy?

JR tweeted they weren't interested, Dreger tweeted they were. Kind of up in the air. Problem with Iggy is he's not a Center and that's the Blues' top priority per those in the know.

Filppula to Tampa. Blues are striking out all over the place. Grabovski is really the last big name Center left.

Senators trade for Bobby Ryan. Wowzers. That makes up for losing Alfredsson.

Meanwhile, the Blues signed Alex Bolduc, a center who has 5 points in 62 NHL games. Cool. It's a 2 way deal for $325 K. Depth, yo.

Alex Bolduc, he was on my radar. Wasn't he on everyone else's too?

I'd take him at this point. Frustrating. Time to drink, I think.

Nick Cotsonika

Debating with myself about STL. Were Blues losers because they couldn't land targets or winners because they didn't overpay to do it?

 I didn't want to get my hopes up and then be disappointed when he signed with someone else.

I don't understand it at all. He has never had a 50 point season. He is a career -32. At 29, he's a bit old to hope that he takes it to the next level. Yet he gets 7 years at $5.25AAV. Something doesn't add up.

I seriously don't think the Blues can afford to let Stewart go now. He may underachieve, but he's better than their current options to replace them. And they'll probably have to overpay.

Apparently Weiss and Filppula were the 2 on Armstrong's radar today. Weiss wanted to play with Zetterberg and Datsyuk. And, it was implied that Filppula signed for more than the Blues were willing to give him, or at least as much as they were willing to spend.

All in all, a banner day at the office for Mr. Armstrong.

So now instead of having four guys in the organization just like him, we have five. Is Armstrong just trying to troll everyone or what?
