The Blues just needed that first goal, and they finally got it. It wasn't pretty, but it hit the back of the net. After that, it seemed like everybody breathed a sign of relief and started playing loose again. It also helped that Hitch put the regular lines back together and that chemistry kicked in. It was nice to bounce back on that final game of the road trip. Now we get the familiarity of home.

Miller was good, although it made me chuckle his first goal given up as a Blue was such a flukey one. But it was good to get the bad one out of the way. The 2nd goal, to me, looked like a defensive breakdown. Otherwise, he was in command back there.

Ott was skating hard constantly, a nice change of pace from Stewart. If the first game is any indication, we're going to like him here in St. Louis.

Yeah you can look at Ott's numbers all you want, but the reality is, we replaced Stewart who stuck out on this team as a sore thumb with someone who actually skates and puts in effort, and allows Berglund to go to the wing where, at least in theory, he's more comfortable anyway. The net morale effect of replacing a turd with a guy with heart alone is not to be discounted, IMO.

I thought, on the contrary, the first goal was VERY pretty. Great pass by 9.

Don't worry, that kind of thing won't rattle him. He's used to it.

I actually turned the TV off in the middle of the game because I was just utterly disgusted with how we wern't showing effort. Contrary to popular belief (And my infamous reputation to such), I was not typing up another of my fine "Fire Hitchcock" masterpieces. I don't understand his rationale with changing the lines up, but it's absolutely not his fault if the team plays like they don't want to be there. And that's how they looked for a good chunk of the game.

Then they caught fire. Bergy obviously saw the writing on the wall and doesn't want to be traded.

After all is said and done, winning this game really proved something great, because it shows we have heart. Ott was amazing and Miller showed up to play and made some really great saves. All I ask is that Hitch leaves the lines alone and starts leveraging them for power because we got a lineup now that can be highly effective and dangerous against the opposition, with a bona fide starter now between the pipes.

Anyone that complained about Paaj before has nothing to complain about anymore. He's coming along and coming quick.

As for the continued talk about the trade, I have to ask: Who is this Chris we're talking about? lol.

Long Live The Note!

Don't think it was lack of heart. Everybody looked confused and they looked like shit cause no one knew their place, whether on O or on D. It's not like they weren't skating, they just weren't sure who was supposed to do what, and that can be debilitating. You could just see the sparks fly when the old lines got back together.
