Vanek was scratched tonight, apparently on the move.

Ducks will go for Thomas Vanek and hope his play picks up and he resigns at the end of the year.

My favorite reporter trick, be as vague as possible and pass it off as 'news.' No fewer than 6 could literally be all the teams in the NHL. It could be 6. It could be 14. But you know...just get your name out there on a report.

For some odd, gut-feeling reason I want to say Vanek to SJ.

Also Marty St. Louis to the NYR is a big rumor too. Nothing official.

My biggest question of the day is are the Blues done?

I am happy with where the team is at. I am not sure we have what it would take to get a proved scorer or that I want to mess with a good thing to do it. I am also unclear about where we are with respect to the cap, and that may be our biggest obstacle. We would have to move a salary with any trade, and I can't see good options for that, lol.

Apparently St. Louis for Callahan 1st round pick 2015 and 2nd round pick 2014 is a done deal.
Heard from Tradecentre on NHLN.

They(Tradecentre) had an interview with Doug Armstrong and he said he hasn't received one phone call today about a trade.

While that may be a true statement, that doesn't mean he hasn't made 29 calls going out, lol.,

I lost a lot of respect for Marty St. Louis today.
He wanted a trade(most likely) because of the team Canada situation with Yzerman.
Very selfish of him especially with Stamkos finally coming back, and a decision he will regret down the line.

I agree. Much like Marty Brodeur requesting or 'welcoming' a trade from NJ. The difference is that St. Louis is still a top notch player, Brodeur isn't an elite goalie anymore. Brodeur needs to ride it out and retire spending his career with one team. I know St. Louis was traded early in his career, but he's the best player in Lightning's franchise history. Because he got snubbed from the Olympic team, one that he ended up making, he decides to leave? It's a business, I get it. Still a bummer.

Otherwise, man, it's been a quiet deadline day.

Gaborik can be a major head case and is a softie. He will make them weak and the Blues will make them pay.
