How anyone can blame Miller for the last 6 games is beyond me. Especially since he was 7-1 in his first 8 games. The problem lies with the defense in our own end, which to me encompasses ALL five players while in our own end. It's like they forgot the team concept over the last 6 games. they are playing as individuals and doing their own thing, not paying attention to the little things that made up 95 % of the season. I understand that injuries have played a factor in it. BUT when the un- injured players are still in there and playing the way they have, they aren't giving Miller a chance in hell to make saves. Which judging form the last three games specifically, is causing him to over compensate on his angles, and sliding WAY out of position, then flopping like a fish. IMHO he has lost all confidence in the D, and is trying to hard to make up for it.

IMHO, in order for the team to get out of this funk, they are going to have to start ham and egging it again. Start dummying down the game plan, start blocking the shots that they are known to block. Stop allowing all the damn break aways , and give Miller some help. Get back to basics, start playing the 200 ft. game again. And just start having fun...

As always, just my two cents...

All that the 6 game losing streak showed us is that Tarasenko is the Messiah.

He wasn't to blame for all 6 games...but he didn't win us any of them, and he was pretty bad in a few of them.
Especially since he was 7-1 in his first 8 games.
I don't think that has anything to do with the last 6 games.

When you have as many guys injured as we have, you have guys being asked to do things they don't normally do, plus you have them playing against the other team's better defensemen, when they might ordinarily play against their lesser guys. It all trickles down.

I think they need to:

1) Get healthy.
2) Play hard.
3) Play smart.
4) Put the shots on net.
5) Get solid goaltending from Miller.

I don't think they need to dumb anything down. When they say before games that they just need to "keep it simple", that's just fluff talk for the camera. They have a game plan and they need to follow it 100%. Know your role and play your ass off within that role.

If those five things happen, we'll beat the Hawks. We were the better team all season long and we have home ice advantage. Getting healthy is the key.

I dont think it matters what Miller does, the Blues are going to do every thing they can to resign him. Army has to try. Allen will be here next year. Only way Elliott would be back is if the Blues are unable to resign Miller. Even then would Elliott want to come back knowing he is their third choice?
