Old Flashchat vs New Flashchat (Mini-Chat)

Postby cprice12 » Fri Apr 11, 2014 1:13 pm

I am failing to see why you guys don't like the new chat feature I installed.
I think it works great.
The old Flashchat software is no longer being supported and isn't really compatible with the forum anymore. I tried to get it to work but it just isn't going to.

What is wrong with the new chat?

I don't mind it, honestly. I can put up with the 5 second delay, but when the bulk of the group goes another route, I've gotta follow or else I'll be sitting in there by myself. But I like that it keeps the conversation in there so people can see how we react to games, if they so choose. I also like that the avatars show up as well.

Note: I'm not just saying that because you asked either. I wasn't in there very long, I may find some things to nitpick, but overall, I thought it was okay.

Seriously?
You do realize it's not 5 seconds after you post...it refreshes every 5 seconds. Huge difference. (and that's as low as I can turn it down)
Every time I post a message, it goes live in a second or two. The old Flashchat didn't seem instant every time either...sometimes there was a couple second delay or so.

I think every aspect about it is better than Flashchat. It archives messages so if you leave and come back they are still there, you can see what everyone has said before you get there, it brings in avatars, it's an instant login, loads quicker, cleaner interface, integrated better on the back end, uses our forum smilies (even the custom ones are available to use) ...etc.

Did you guys even give it a real chance? I only saw a few messages in there from you guys.

I'd like to see how it performs over the course of an entire game with a number of people in there. Do you think you guys can give it a shot tonight?
