Yeah... those 14 goals this season really make that wrist shot look killer.

And re Miller.... I don't know why anyone was really excited about him other than because Halak was leaving. He's a run of the mill goalie who has never gone all the way. I think we can win with him though.

I hate to say it but I don't know there was any way the Hawks were going to lose that game. Yea we all hate them but they're a veteran team coming back in a series and Crawford especially made some unreal saves, got lucky... that's how it goes sometimes.

Steve Ott was godawful. Virtually every pass he made was off target or went to a guy in red. Didn't control the puck at any point in their zone when he had it.

Lapierre: Stupidest penalty I think I've ever seen in the NHL in years. They teach you not to do that when you're like 12 years old dude. You're a moron. And then you argue the call?! Then you come back and almost bury one.

At least the Hawks' pp is just as bad as ours is

Anyone else surprised at how mellow (relatively speaking) this game was when compared to the other two? I thought there'd be a bloodbath and while there was still a ton of hitting there weren't any scrums or extra-curriculars going on. I think the refs had a long talk with both teams before game 3.

Game 4, let's get it.

1. The faceoffs have to improve
2. The power play has to improve
3. We need to drive the net and get Crawford uncomfortable
4. We need to stop shooting wide
5. We need cleaner entries

That's pretty much it.

As long as we can go 1-1 the series should be ours. Even then we still have home ice.

WIthout that great assist on the GWG, I'd be arguing that Ott is creeping into healthy scratch territory.

The guy can hit though. Ask Duncan Keith.

At his absolute best, Chris Stewart is 30 times the player Steve Ott is, but Chris Stewart is only at his best about 5% of the time.

Ott is generally useless too, except he's gritty and he can hit. He's an upgrade over Stewart, sadly.

Steve Ott has a lot of upside. He's just spent alot of time on a crap team and he's starting to come out of his shell. I don't think people really get the amount of pressure you fall onto when you go from the worst team in the league that you've played on for years and years literally overnight onto a team going for the Cup. I like his ability to hit and his durability.

I'm more surprised that people aren't sitting here saying "You know, If Bergy would get just a little faster and use his body a little more, we could have won." It wasn't too long ago that Bergy was putting up points like candy. Now he's like a drifting pylon with occasional bursts of brilliance. People say Roy have 'hands of stone', well, this guy's got a body of stone lol.

I'm still trying to figure out why Ott was getting any ice time late in the 3rd. Down 1, they should have been triple shifting Vova and Schwartzy and doing whatever necessary to keep Ott on the bench--even if someone had to sabotage one of his skate blades.

I'm actually surprised by that too, that they didn't go Steen, Vova, Schartz or Boat, Schartz, Steen more. It's obviously who the offensive leaders are, and we kept putting Lappy...Lappy...on a line with them. Please. Please sit him down. Please.

Exactly. We're not talking 37 year old vets with rusty knees, we're talking two dynamic kids who could log extra ice time late when they're needed the most. As for Lappy that stupid son of a bitch with that damn penalty in the 2nd. Honestly, I understand the Blues got shut out anyway, but if we didn't spend over a 1/4 of the 2nd pd on the kill--started by Lappy being Lappy, maybe we could have gotten a few more chances and tucked one behind Crawfish.
