Actually, I think the comma in your post is an error. It should read "cheap quality jerseys" instead.

I did a search and holy crap, a LOT of places have his name on the sweater spelled EOLLITT. WTF. Is this Halak's way of getting revenge or some such? lol.

I'm looking for the one that reads 'Elliot' since so many people spell his name that way.

That's a bad Chinese knockoff. We have them proliferated in our building too - not ones with spelling errors - but lots of fakes jerseys. They are so easy to spot but most people wearing them I don't think know what they have. A lot of times the red color is darker. On others the font of the numbers is wrong or the shoulder logos are different.

Yea most people have no idea. I look for the word font on the back of the jersey. Even when spelled correctly there's just something about the name-plate that looks... off. Numbers aren't quite right, idonno, but yea, you can just "tell" when you've been around enough which ones are real and which ones aren't.

Also a lot of people like paying $50 for a jersey from China thinking they are getting the real deal as opposed to the $400 for an authentic. Although I've found a guy on ebay I've used for several years that sells authentics for $300 lettered up and that's the best deal I've found. When the Hawks were in the Stanley Cup Finals in 2010 our little gift shop at the United Center was selling authentics for $800!! Can you believe that? And people, all giddy from the cup gladly shelled out that money after wins. A little research and they could have spent $300 for the same authentic jersey.

Or, some folks would rather spend $30 on a slightly-off authentic (some of which you can barely tell the difference...others are way off), than spend $300-$400 on an actual authentic.
I get it...and don't blame them in the least.
Hell, back in the day, the good ol' CCM replicas weren't "authentic" and that's all anyone every really had 25-30 years ago...and they would run you $40. The Chinese knockoffs now are nicer than those were then.

But yeah... buying one with the name misspelled...that's just bad.

I'm also not a fan of those who get the wrong era jersey for a player. That bugs me. You see that a lot with the Chinese knockoffs.

My Backes 3rd jersey is one of those cheap knockoffs. But I've checked it over, I'm sure there are some slight differences, but nothing on the surface. Nothing that I can tell, at least, without looking really close at it. From far away, it looks like a regular jersey. Normally I go for the real deal, but it was cheap and what's another jersey for the collection? I'm actually really happy with mine for what it is.

I just really wish the last 'real deal' jersey I got wasn't an EJ.

I ordered a Hull jersey from a knockoff site. $29. You can't beat that. Should be here in a couple weeks.
A buddy of mine ordered a couple others from the same site, and they looked damn good. He bought a Gibbons Penguins jersey and a Craig STL Cardinals All-Star jersey.
I couldn't spot any differences...not that I knew what I was looking for in the All-Star Jersey anyway, but still.

I would like a Schwartz sweater but I can't really afford a real one, so I'll settle for a Schwarts knockoff.

Maybe I'll buy myself an Ott sweater. Every time I get a new numbered uni, the guy I get ends up traded. I'll also buy a Berglund, a Roy and a LaPierre. In that kind of bulk, I have to keep it as cheap, yet quality, as I can.

I was impartial about LaPierre during the season...but he's been good in the playoffs. And if not for his save behind Miller, this series would be over now.
Same with Ott. He's been better in the playoffs.
I'm with you on Berglund and Roy though.

I think Lappy takes stupid penalties at dumb times, though he did seem to settle down. The save he made was purely luck as a result of being pushed into position by I forget who on Chicago. Nevertheless, if he can keep the temper in check and avoid the penalties I can see his role on the team. Ott though, I just don't like him. I thought anyone for Stewart would be an improvement but I think I was wrong.
