Will we pull Miller so it at least looks like we're trying?

Lots of changes in this offseason.

Hitch and Army might be done. Army should be done just because of the Perron for Paarjvi. I understand it was a salary dump. Should of dumped Berglund instead.

Players

Berglund better not be resigned. Guy is freaking awful.
Ott gone
Roy gone
Wouldn't be surprised is Shatty is gone. They have $15 million in three defensemen. One has to go and Shatty will be the odd man out. Not saying he should be, but most likely will be.
Miller won't be back. I'd sign Elliott to a reasonable deal and go with him and Allen.

Sabres (pick will transfer to Sabres if any of the following conditions are met: 1) Blues advance to 2014 Western Conference Finals and Ryan Miller appears in at least 50% of the game minutes played by all Blues goalies during first and second rounds of 2014 playoffs, 2) Blues re-sign Ryan Miller prior to making their 2014 first round pick, 3) Blues trade Ryan Miller prior to making their 2014 first round pick

PICK WOULD NOT TRANSFER AS BLUES HAVE NOT ADVANCED TO 2014 WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS AND HAVE NOT RE-SIGNED RYAN MILLER AND HAVE NOT TRADED RYAN MILLER

Traded Ryan Miller, Steve Ott, conditional draft picks (2014 second round pick and 2014 third round pick if any of the following conditions are met: 1) Blues advance to 2014 Western Conference Finals and Ryan Miller appears in at least 50% of the game minutes played by all Blues goalies during first and second rounds of 2014 playoffs, 2) Blues re-sign Ryan Miller prior to making their 2014 first round pick, 3) Blues trade Ryan Miller prior to making their 2014 first round pick) (?-?) (?-?) to Blues for Jaroslav Halak, Chris Stewart, William Carrier, 2015 first round pick (?-?), conditional draft pick(s) (2014 first round pick and 2016 third round pick if any of the following conditions are met: 1) Blues advance to 2014 Western Conference Finals and Ryan Miller appears in at least 50% of the game minutes played by all Blues goalies during first and second rounds of 2014 playoffs, 2) Blues re-sign Ryan Miller prior to making their 2014 first round pick, 3) Blues trade Ryan Miller prior to making their 2014 first round pick. If none of those conditions are met then 2016 second round pick if any of the following conditions are met: 1) Blues re-sign Ryan Miller to a contract extension after making their 2014 first round pick, 2) Blues trade Ryan Miller after making their 2014 first round pick and prior to 2014-07-01, 3) Blues re-sign Ryan Miller to a new NHL contract for 2014-15. If none of those conditions are met, then 2016 third round pick) (?-?) on 2014-02-28

Yeah, I think Hitch just sealed his fate with this one. They're going to have to clean house at the top just to keep the fanbase on their side. Pretty disgraceful performance by the entire franchise this series.

And, at 4-1, not one good hit for the rest of the game. That's all you need to know about the heart and cojones of the 2013-2014 St. Louis Blues.

Hawks are just better. We hung in there, we traded blows with them all series, went to 4 OT's, I still believe the Blues could've won this series but all other things being equal, the better team usually wins. When the Hawks wanted to assert their will, they did, when they had chances they buried them, and from about 14 minutes left in this 3rd period of this game they made the Blues look like an NHL JV team out there.

What a colossal fail. Oh well.

Now for the annual ritual of picking a new team to root for the rest of the playoffs.

This team is as soft and doughy as its coach. The Blues teams I grew up with wouldn't have put up with anywhere near the amount of shit this iteration did.

Right. The US Men's National Team in the World Cup. Hockey season just ended.

I won't be rooting for another team. I'll just be rooting for the playoffs to end. My hopes for this year were too high to get any enjoyment out of watching future rounds.

Sometimes it's nice to watch good hockey with no emotional attachment. I've developed the ritual over the past 15 years of being crushed in the early rounds every year and bouncing back in time to enjoy the Finals. :)

One thing I'm sick of is hearing teams compliment on how hard we made it for them. I don't know if we just get bad draws every year? Is it just bad luck?

On the plus side, this Gif is going around with most people believing Seabrook apologized to Backes in the handshake line. If so, that's a classy move.

Is the handshake posted anywhere online yet? I turned off the game early in disgust but that's the only part I wish I saw.

Still one of the best parts of hockey.

Not sure if it's online yet. But, they followed Backes through the line awaiting how he and Seabrook would greet each other.
