More perspective:
- Oilers haven't been to the playoffs, AT ALL, in 8 seasons. Jets/Thrashers in 7 seasons.
- Islanders haven't won a playoff series since 1992-1993. (19 seasons). They've been in the playoffs 6 times in that stretch.
- Panthers haven't done it since their unprecedented 95-96 run (16 seasons)
- Jets/Thrashers never have won a series... 13 seasons
- Since the Flames' run in 2003-2004 never won a playoff series and been in the playoffs four times in that eight season span.
- Maple Leafs haven't been to the FINALS (nevermind winning it) in 45 years.
- Unfortunately we hold second place but you get the point.

Great points, Waukee Blues!
For more perspective look at the Sharks. They are about to have one of the worst collapses in HISTORY by possibly losing 4 straight to the Kings! Their history of playoff ineptitude is even worse than the Blues. I don't even think they've been to a conference final and if they have they haven't won!

I believe the Sharks are cursed because their team doesn't belong in San Jose, it belongs in Oakland where the Seals came from. That's how the Gund family got the franchise. At least with the Seals, by merging with Minnesota and moving to Dallas, they have a Stanley Cup in their story.
The worst collapse imho is the city of Atlanta. They get the Flames, they get moved to Calgary, win the Cup. They got the Thrashers and they moved them out to Winnipeg. If they win the Cup in the near or even distant future, that would make Atlanta THE cursed NHL -anything-, period. Even Quebec isn't as bad off.

You know what's amazing? The Blues have 130 wins in the past 3 seasons which is more than ANY other western conference team yet haven't won a SINGLE second round game!
It's such an amazing stat I have mentioned it in other threads.
