You know what's amazing? The Blues have 130 wins in the past 3 seasons which is more than ANY other western conference team yet haven't won a single second round game!

I have said this in other threads but it's such an AMAZING stat it's worth repeating!

Within 3 years Jake Allen will be the opening night starting goaltender for this team.

It's very possible. However the big risk here is that he's unproven at the NHL level and if your're the GM with this stacked roster of talent and primed to make a run at the cup do you want to risk putting Jake Allen in charge of the netminding right now? Or....go out and sign another goalie for 2 years to be the #1 and see how Jake Allen does as a backup #2 guy. That's the strategy I would use cause just making Allen #1 could backfire. Look how many goalies were promising but turned into the dreaded '4A' player once they reached the big time.
