Does playing for your hometown team somehow make you a better player or something?

This means one thing: the return of the Cam Cam, which will now be called the Chris Cam.

I've never really understood the burning of jerseys. You burn old flags to dispose of them respectfully...

I'd cut that bitch up and use it as rags...or TP. Or sew it into a bag and fill it with shit.

Really mega-uber-bummed that Stempy ended up going elsewhere.

He's been everywhere, man. A regular Johnny Cash.

And I've been really mega-uber-bummed every time that he hasn't ended up back here.

what is taking so long to get Schwartz signed?
by bleedblue edited by jrutherford 1:21 PM yesterday

It's late July, so it seems like it's taking a long time. But the sides didn't really start talking "in earnest," according to Schwartz's agent Wade Arnott until recently. When Doug Armstrong is building the roster, he has to keep some flexibility entering free agency, so he can do things like sign Paul Stastny. Then, Armstrong turned his attention back to Sobotka. Now that that situation has been resolved, not in a good way, he's dealing with Schwartz. Unfortunately for Schwartz, certain things take priority and with him having little leverage, he hasn't been a big priority until now.

The article below shows how some regular players are still looking for a team. Jeff Halpern could work here if he's not asking too much.

From USA TODAY

NHL regulars still hunting for jobs

PHOENIX - More than $580 million has been spent on NHL free agents nearly a month into the signing period, but not everyone has been able to fill his pockets. There's a crew of players who remain unsigned despite being considered NHL regulars, and three such examples were with the Coyotes last season: forwards Jeff Halpern and Paul Bissonnette and defenseman Derek Morris. This reality — being without a contract on the brink of August — is often dwarfed by the perception that free agency is all about freedom, fortune and fame. But for those who fulfill a specialized role or are in the twilight years of their career, this milepost isn't so glamorous.

Any "NHL regular" who's still unsigned wants too much money.

I'm in talk-to-me-when-you-sign-Schwarz mode at this point.
