Nothing would surprise me tonight. Heard a lot on NHL radio leading up to tonight that the Panthers could just as easily deal the top pick for some immediate help on the team as well as probably a high first round pick and I could see them drafting Eckblad or however you spell his name.

Should be entertaining tonight for sure.

Well that was just a brutal opening....I actually kind of felt sorry for Bettman.

18-year-old center who had 45 goals and 87 points in 58 games in the OHL. The scouting report is that he's a very-fast and skilled player who may or may not struggle in the NHL because he's not very big (5'10" 170 lbs.)

NBCSN had a mention that Fabbri is 'clutch.' I hope that's true, since we're still looking for someone to show up in the playoffs.

Kinda hoping to get Ryan Macinnis next.

I am too. There's going to be some talent there at 33. I know it's technically a 2nd round pick, but there are going to be some first round talents sitting there for us hopefully.

I'd take Barbashev if he's still there MacInnis will still be there at 52.

I'm disappointed that we made a pick in the first round...I was hoping to open up the boards to read about how we got Spezza.

I'm not optimistic that we will make the necessary moves this off season.

Im disappointed too but Im not going to blame Army seemed to me that he tried and they were just asking too much. Spezza said he wanted to come here maybe he still ends up here at trade deadline if he is not dealt this summer I really think Murray not trading him now hurt more than helped trying to trade him this summer.

Main goal is Stastny now and whatever else we can get offensive wise.

Barbashev would have mentors here and could be NHL ready quickly, would be nice to land both.

From JR's tweet, it sounds like a lot of teams, Blues included, want to take a swing at Stastny first. Then the Spezza market will heat up for the teams that miss on Stastny.

That kind've comforts me. To be honest, when Bettman didn't come across stage right before out pick to say he had a trade to announce I figured the gig was up. But personally I think Spezza is a better center than Stastny so I'm not quite sure why the deal wasn't just done. Apparently Blues management feels different

Did anybody else see when Leon Draistal went #3? One of the tweets TSN flashed?

Leon "The Final Solution" Draistal?

You called it :okman:

Ryan Macinnis goes to the yotes, still thought it would have been cool to see him start his pro game here were his father made such a big impact.
