Damn. I was hoping they'd sign Stastny.

With Spezza traded to Dallas the Blues had to act quickly on Stastny cause there would be a bidding war otherwise.

so now the Beglund deal is good? I mean I think so but a lot of people seem to think its an albatross

Army's "bad" signings are usually for short terms (Roy) or small amounts (Lapierre), but this has not been anyone's complaint about him. It took him a long time to finally address this glaring need on offense.

If he'd dealt Stewart, a prospect, and our #1 for Spezza at the dealine, the playoffs may have ended differently. But enough about that, lets bask in the glory of a second line of schwartz, stastny and tarasenko.......as panger will say "thanks for comin" NHL

Personally I think there's more to unfold here regarding Berglund. Call it a hunch, but I see some kind of trade taking place before the season starts. I have no idea what it will be though. It seems premature to label the Berglund deal as bad though, IMHO.

Nah. Stastny turned down more money and more years to play in STL. No bidding war.

Colorado wanted Stastny in the $6 million range.
